In my opinion a wedding day isn’t complete until the bride and groom exchange heartfelt handwritten letters. Also these two are expecting a little babe next spring which made their day even more special 💕
Maddison and Blake had the sweetest first look before their wedding at @mcguires_millrace_farm We love that first looks give the bride and groom a moment alone before the craziness of the day gets started. It helps ease the nerves, and this is often the only moment alone they get all day!!

Little known fact, but I was a political science major in college. Well, technically I was a double major with a side of Women’s Studies (shocking, I know). I also was voted ‘Most Likely to be a Politician’ my senior year of high school, and served as a Page in the United States House of Representatives when I was 16. My favorite extracurricular activity in high school was called Youth & Government (YAG, if you will), and debating (whether with friends or my parents) was definitely my favorite hobby. Sometimes I still dream about pursuing a career in policy/politics, but worry I’ve become a bit too jaded by the whole system right about now.
Then, I meet a candidate like Paul Ross. He’s running for a seat on the NC Superior Court, and is perhaps the most authentic political candidate I’ve ever met. Interviewing him was so easy because of his confidence in what he believes, and his genuine desire to serve the people of rural North Carolina.
Hopefully this film will give you a little glimpse of what I’m talking about. And as always, you can watch the full version by using the link in our profile! And also… DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!!!! Early voting starts tomorrow!!!! #bdlbcommercial
This past week was hectic as i was in Philadelphia, NJ then back to NC. But when you love what you do it’s not work🎥. So I had the opportunity to film with @danimaiale who is a influencer/blogger in the lovely city of Philadelphia and I will say the weather wasn’t the best but we made it happen. We are so excited to share Madison & Matt's maternity session! These two are going to be the BEST parents, and we can't wait to welcome their sweet baby girl, Mary Collins! Thank you so much to Maddie & Matt for allowing us to capture this special exciting time on video and share your story! @madisonmtuttle@tuttlm05
This Saturday is supposed to be sunny, 66 degrees and the state fair is in town. If that doesn’t call for the return of the signature vest, I don’t know what does.
And no, I don’t give a fuck what anybody thinks about the fact that I’ll be wearing it every day from now until next spring 😁📷@carolynscottphoto
I will admit, religion is a hard one for me personally. I was raised Christian, attended church and Sunday school most weeks growing up, and still go occasionally on holidays. I have had moments of strong faith throughout my life, and also moments of extreme skepticism. I have felt alienated by the church when it comes to issues of women and sexuality, and I have felt drawn back in by incredible leaders like @glennondoyle and @jenhatmaker . I have been left with so many unanswered questions when my mom was sick with cancer, and then even more when we eventually lost her.
But one thing that I have continued to find striking in my adult life is how much I love listening in on conversations between those who have studied, and made careers, out of religion. Whether that be spiritual leaders, divinity school students or professors, writers… you name it. It seems that the one undoubtedly beautiful part of organized religion is the framework and language it provides for thinking about the world and how we interact it, especially in the most dark and the most beautiful times. And those who study it spend so much time thinking about how religion can help us navigate these times, that when you sit down and listen to them discuss it’s inevitable you will leave with more perspective, more insight and more tools in which you can apply to your own life and the way you live it.
Today’s shoot, behind-the-scenes of @katecbowler ’s podcast ‘Everything Happens for a Reason and Other Lives I’ve Loved’ was such a great reminder of how much I appreciate the magic that happens when great minds get to escape the real world for a minute and dig into the really deep and meaningful parts of who we are as humans. Barbara Brown Taylor was every bit as brilliant and insightful as you think she would be, and their conversation is one I will be sharing with everyone I know as soon as it comes out this November. And until then, don’t worry, she has plenty of episodes from Season 1 you can listen to 😊 My personal favorite, Episode 2, is an interview with Dr. Ray Barfield called ‘This Is Going to Hurt Just a Little’. Go. Listen. Enjoy. #bdlbcommercial
Perhaps the most significant wedding we shot in 2017 was exactly one year ago yesterday*, and is the perfect example of when clients become friends, and then members of your team! I liked Madison & Tyler immediately after meeting with them, but had no idea at the time what a significant role Tyler would come to play at BDLB, and Madison would come to play as a dear friend. So grateful for these two humans, and remain inspired by their vows and their beautiful wedding. Happy belated* anniversary @madisonfrschwartz and @tylerftschwartz!!!! #bdlbweddings
*I blame IG, because trying 27 times yesterday it would NOT let me post this. So I figured a day late is okay :)
