The name means "that Holi in which [people] hit with sticks" (laṭh is a thick traditional staff). Legend has it that Lord Krishna visited his beloved Radha's village on this day and playfully teased her and her friends. Taking offence at this, the women of Barsana chased him away. Keeping in sync with the story, the men from Nandgaon visit the town of Barsana every year, only to be greeted by sticks (aka lathis) of the women there. The ladies hurl sticks at the men, who try to shield themselves as much as they can.
Let me tell you 'bout a secret.
Later, when you become an adult, you may meet some liars in this cruel world.
They'll say, beauty is in your face, your body, and your money. Beauty is about wearing full make up that makes me cannot recognize who you are. Beauty is about sexy body, wearing the most glorious dress in the world. Beauty is about your full-of-money purse, so that you can buy anything in this world.
Well, these are what liars will tell you.
I ain't a liar, and I hope you trust me. Beauty is just a beauty, no definition needed.
The largest national park outside of Alaska, Death Valley is an almost unfathomable place. The park’s 3.3 million acres /1.34 million hectares encompass mountain-size sand dunes, below-sea-level salt flats, mysterious singing rocks, and colorful sandstone canyons. Extremes are the norm: Death Valley is the hottest and driest place in America, with summer temperatures peaking above 120 F°/49°C, and average rainfall of 2 inches/5 cm per year. Also extreme are the park’s elevations: Badwater Basin, the park’s lowest spot, rests at 282 feet/86 metres below sea level while Telescope Peak soars to 11,049 feet/3,368 metres.
During my journey in Vietnam, I decided to skip the touristic popular Ha Long Bay and stayed several days in this island, Cat Ba. One rainy evening I crossed the island by walking. I walked probably 25 km. crossing mountains and arrived at the small local port where there were not people. I waited there for one hour and then one local fisherman took me to the city from this place and of course I paid him. At the moment, I thought that it wasn't a good deal as we we're going to voyage on an old boat. While sailing under the rain, I felt more happier since seeing an old man taking his old-fashioned compass out of his jacket and following to roam around these small hounded islands; where we can only see in moutains in a few meters through foggy and rainy weather. We voyaged probably two hours and during that time the man also did fishing. He wasn't not only just catching the fish but also collecting plastic bottles from the ocean. This man truely got my respectation. This man is the real fisherman since he knew that When we earned something from somewhere, we should return something back while we can. #vietnam#catba#natgeo100contest#travelphotography

When the heart stands still for a moment and dreams come true.
It was very unreal to see HIM and I almost gave up hope.
The last drive, the last hour and then the almost impossible happened.
I can't express how happy I am
This is a French Angelfish. 🇫🇷👼🐠
Scientific name: Pomacanthus paru 🤓⠀
•They start young! ☝🏻Did you know a young French angelfish has a unique “job” to perform in the ocean? It eats parasites that are using a number of other fish as hosts.😝
•It also changes color as it ages. When it is young, it is black with five vertical yellow bars; but as it ages, it loses the bars. Its black scales develop yellow edges. 🖤💛
•Interesting fact: Each male defends a territory containing 2–5 females. He performs courtship displays and nuzzles the female at times. 👫💏
