Myanmar’s 27 turtle species ‘facing extinction’, warns British Embassy in Rangoon
Nearly all of Myanmar’s 27 species of turtles are near extinction as over 15-20 million turtles and tortoises are trafficked in Southeast Asia every year, the British Embassy in Myanmar said in a statement.
Turtles are illegally traded, primarily for their shells, and are profitable for traffickers. They are also in demand as pets, food and medicine.

The last month has made me realize how deep and in love I am with competition. I have risked my health for that rush, have thousands cheer for me, to be able to have an epic underdog story to tell. I live this gladiator lifestyle, so there is no sadness over an L. I’m going to step back on that @OneChampionship canvas one day healthy and stronger than ever before! I am going to leave my signature on a man’s torso... #SobekSemper

Farmer U Myo Myint needed a jump start. Once he fed his family and used produce to pay his taxes, there wasn’t much harvest left to sell. The boost he needed came from a CRS program in Myanmar that taught him ways to increase his farm’s income. He now vaccinates his animals and treats their minor health problems, essential skills needed as the only veterinary clinic is far away and costly. .

A part of my artist name comes from the term A.I. or artificial intelligence. I’m a big fan of sci-fi and it has a lot of influence on many of the art I make. I tried to represent some of the ideas visually in this video.
You can listen to the song on SoundCloud, and the full video’s up on my Facebook page.

Day 293: After a long bus journey we have arrived in Bagan and couldn’t wait to get out and see the city. We hired what can only be described mobility scooter and visited some nearby temples 🙏 #earlyretirement
📷@katiespostcard «Bagan is an ancient city located in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar. During the 11th and 13th centuries, over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains alone, of which the remains of over 2,200 temples and pagodas still survive to the present day.»

For over a decade, I’ve been dreaming about visiting this place. About walking it’s streets, about meeting it’s people and about using my camera to capture it’s soul.
10 years & 3 cancelled attempts later I finally made it and what I found was pure magic.
Follow me on @because.people.matter to see all the beautiful people I met along the way, honestly some of the most joyful and down-to-earth humans I ever came across.
Big shout out to @visit.myanmar for inviting us and making this dream come true. #MyMyanmar
