Love Arabic and Mediterranean cuisines?
Arab cuisines are very famous for the different techniques used to tenderize meat. Khaleeji, Turkish, Morrocan, Lebanese, Syrian, Kuwaiti, Saudi and the whole lot seem to have specific and special ways and techniques of cooking. Tagine cooking is especially a speciality among Turkish and Moroccan cuisines. Oh and how tenderly is everything cooked in this one pot kind of dish! The lamb literally melts in your mouth!
Lunched @alafiyaalmaghribi restaurant yesterday and yes, am impressed and how! They serve both kahleeji and Moroccan specialities. We indulged in the Moroccan spreads! Tagina Barbok and Tagine Chicken with Couscous and Moroccan salad! Tagina barkok wins the trophy but the chicken isn’t in any way lagging behind. Just on par with the winner. Barkok is basically prunes! Lamb cooked and tenderized with such aromatic, flavorful sauces and prunes, you have to eat it to believe how amazingly-melt-in-the-mouth kind of dish this one is! Heavenly! Lamb lovers got to try this! .
Chicken Tagine with veggies and couscous had the burst of flavors oozing and dripping all over the couscous, it was deeeeelicious! The salad had foul, carrots, shakshouka and pickles with olives, served with freshly baked special Moroccan breads! Yum😋
We were too full to dive into desserts but next time promise!☺️
So, next time you decide to eat Arabian or Mediterranean , pick Moroccan and try out @alafiyaalmaghribi , just behind #ShiningTower , #khalidiya#inAbuDhabi. #Eat#indulge#live#eatstories#walkeatdream#haneeya#instagood#uaefood#eatappeatandme#jorenqfoodguide#bestbites#moroccan#tagines#cooking#slowcooking#lamb#meat#chicken#food#mediterraneanfood#eatguide#inabudhabi#timeoutabudhabi#instaabudhabi#zomatouae#zomatoabudhabi
Bad picture of my lamb tagine damn it! Have you ever cooked with Ras el Hanout? It’s a Morrocan spice blend consisting of about 13 spices & all the ones perfect for lamb but also with some floral aromas for the after taste. It was banging. This is easy to make too! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Pay no attention to me or my sis or the fact that my eyes are closed. Pay close attention to the fact that as I stepped off the plane my sis hands me what resembles a farata and an avocado smoothy! She promised me breakfast on my arrival to Marrakesh and a great breakfast it was!!!
The “farata” was filled with some morrocan soft cheese and honey!!! Oh, what sweet/salty goodness! And the avocado smoothie was the best smoothie I’ve ever had and I hate smoothies! It was a great beginning to a great weekend. My sister knows me so well. #marrakesh#morrocanbreakfast#happybunny#morrocancuisine#needmore
The traditional Moroccan lamb Tagine.👳🏼♀️ Tagine, the stew, classically incorporates savory and sweet ingredients to make a complex dish with a richly spiced sauce.🔥🙌🏻 It’s one of my favorite cuisines 😍 and I went nuts the first time I tried this dish! 🍽 Covent Garden, London📍
