This was hands down the most logistically difficult trip I’ve ever planned🙇🏾♀️ (getting to rural Eastern Cuba was easier🙄). I started & stopped planning this trip many times in the last year.
Traveling around Cuzco during low (tourist) season means rain, mudslides and railway closures🤦🏾♀️. It was one thing after the next😒. All the frustration & discomfort aside, I’d do it all again (just once though😄 & I’d do a few things differently) & would highly recommend you see Machu Picchu once in your life.
I had no idea when I booked our AirBnb apartment that it was located only a few blocks from a restaurant ranked number 13 in Latin America: Isolina. Of course they had no reservations during the time we’re here, but I thought “No harm in showing up & seeing if we could get in anyway🤷🏾♀️, even if we sit at the bar.” I was fully prepared to use Google Translate to beg when my elementary Spanish failed to convey my desperation to experience this culinary favorite. Turns out all it took was a couple of smiles😁 & “muchas gracias” to be welcomed into the dining room not once, but TWO nights in a row😲! They explained each dish in Spanish & English & ensured that we understood what made each traditional Peruvian dish special.
The same maître d’ who seated us on the first floor last night asked if we’d like to eat upstairs instead tonight. “Uhh- por supuesto!”
Even though they’re still booked solid, we’ll try our luck again tomorrow night😉 ( #YOLO). I’m always amazed how far a little humility will get you😊.
As we close on this first day in Lima I’m overwhelmed by a feeling of immense gratitude🤲🏾. Grateful for the many lovely surprises (including this massive, lit cross on the coastline) as we wandered the streets with no plan or expectations. Especially grateful for being here in this very moment— authentically whole & free🙏🏾.
Believe it or not this dress is from @oldnavy - turns out I’ve been sleeping on their potential but now I go ham on online ordering. Their jeans are solid and baby/toddler clothes are great. Plus there is ALWAYS a sale going on which is in line w my anti-paying-full-price lifestyle... 💃🏻🖤🤳🏻 #dylanedwardwelsh#moreinstories

‘Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate’ Carl Jung 💕 Ponder on that one with me 😏
Sharing this awkward moment after I made it into the split from my #puppypress even though it only lasted a moment. I think the hop at the end was a celebration? On another note, I felt so uncomfortable in just a sports bra at the gym today. I adjusted my leggings 4 million times to compensate🤷♀️ #moreinstories
Enthralled by the #LIAF gig at @kingsplacelondon with a truly marvellous full house audience. I got to compere the event which included a superb gig by the group in this video, #NordicRaga - I was amazed at the knowledge the team from Sweden had, of #SouthIndian music! A tiny clip of a #Raagamaalika of #swaras composed on the spot by the British Bangalorean talent Dr @violinjyotsna 🎻 who transitioned seamlessly through a set of pentatonic five note scales within a minute and circled back to the piece at hand - this happens in Classical concerts, but rarely in #fusion ones! It takes incredible dexterity to deliver what she's done here, as she has not done a tonic shift which in itself is tough, but has incorporated Raagas like Amirthavarshini, the rain Raaga, to match today's rainy #London day! 🎶

Hi 👋 I’m Terra. I haven’t always been this joyful, this grounded, this calm. Don’t get me wrong, I still have my rough bouts...But three years ago I would look into the mirror and see a woman who was anxious, self-critical, had perfectionist tendencies and a lot of self-doubt.
I have worked so hard to get to the smile that you see today. Every single day for the last three years, I have woke up and made a choice. A choice to be happy.
I learned mindfulness, I spoke out to friends and family, journaled, went to counseling, used essential oils and more. I never gave up for I knew that my daughter, my husband and now my beautiful son deserved a mother who was whole. I deserved it too.
If you’re struggling, sweet friend, then this post is for you. I am sending you all the light I can. You are worth it. You deserve happiness too. #moreinstories#normalizeppd

It was a sublimely gorgeous evening and I had heard that filming of the Downton Abbey movie was happening at nearby Lacock. So, when Alex got home from work I lured him over to have a peek with me using promises of half pints of cider at The Red Lion. Excitingly, we managed to catch a scene featuring Mary & Branson being filmed. But really, seeing Lacock dressed up in bunting and bathed in the warmth of an Indian summer’s evening was the highlight. The sky was glowing pink and mauve on the drive home ✨
