Are you on the fence about a new hair color? If you're feeling like you want a big change but the thought of that scares you a little, you are not alone! Putting your appearance into someone else's hands can be intimidating. It's important to do your research before choosing a salon/stylist, but it's also just as important to clearly communicate to your stylist what you are wanting. Here are some things to consider before taking the plunge into a new hue:
-Bring photos with you to your stylist. Sometimes just speaking what you want doesn't clarify enough. It's awesome to have a photo so we can see what you are envisioning.
-The color you are wanting may not be achievable in one go. Meaning, if you have super dark hair or fragile hair and want to be silver or platinum or pastel, it may take more than one appointment to reach that goal safely. Trust the process and your stylist's judgement.
-Be totally open and honest with your stylist! Don't be afraid to tell us what you do and do not like. If we get to the end of our process and you're just not feeling it, let us know so we can fix it! Hopefully you get what you want, but if not, speak up. Good stylists want you to be happy with your hair.
-You will have to get touch ups to maintain your color if you love it. Touch up times vary depending on color desired. If you don't want to be in the salon too often, choose a more natural color with a subtle transition. (balayage is great for this.) .
-You have to take good care of your hair at home after your color to maintain that salon feel. When I tell my clients what I'm using, I'm hoping to educate them on what I do in the salon so they can think about using some of the same or similar products at home. Color safe shampoos, leave in conditioners, or a monthly mask are a just a few things your stylist may reccomend after a color. .
The Juice Lee smoothie from @organics101market . It fights colds and inflammation. Spicy, but refreshing at the same time. Delicious!!

Seeing and hearing how many people and places are effected by this shutdown just breaks my heart. Some parks, like Yellowstone, are being maintained thanks to efforts from local contractors and local officials, but other popular spots are depending on the sound judgment and help from visitors and good samaritans. If you’re visiting a park this weekend, do your due diligence and weigh how your visit will impact the park. If you need a back-up plan, head to a state park instead.
