Even though Mona Foma is in Launceston this year, we're still celebrating in Hobart with the latest painting from the wonderful Tasmanian artist, Esther Shohet, entitled ~ 'MONA and Beyond'!
Hope you're able to attend Mona Foma's "garden of mortal delights and divine corruption" ~ www.monafoma.net.au. It should be awesome!
Skyspace | James Turrell's 'Amarna' sits atop the Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, Tasmania. The museum's wing dedicated to experiential and light art, Pharos, is now one year old | regram: @monamuseum
Feeding shit @ mona in Hobart. A half day is not enough to walk around a shit producing machine and a guy showing his tattoo on his back as sold canvas for when he dies. Proud to be a Belgian feeling so far away but yet connected thanks to cloaca professional and Wim Delvoye, wish I had a work of art like that! #tasmania#hobart#monamuseum#wimdelvoye#belgium#shitpost#art#cloacaprofessional
Bold statement alert: MONA museum in Hobart is hands down the best museum I've ever been to. From a live man as an art piece to the most incredible (and downright terrifying) light installations, it has everything you could never imagine. Still so overwhelmed at how great it was 😂

P.S. You’ll need a Three Day Festival Ticket to attend
What happens in Launnie, stays in Launnie: @monafoma has popped up in the shimmering oasis that is Launceston. Go see some free stuff or get a ticket to the main festival action at Inveresk Precinct from Friday 18–Sunday 20 January.
Couldn't miss the #DavidWalsh exhibit while "down under", so we hopped on a quick flight for the day to Hobart, Tasmania to visit the renowned @monamuseum! Our verdict? A standout cultural institution that's well worth the trip. Everything from the scenic ferry ride across from Hobart, to the vast and cavernous building, is an outstanding experience. The museum includes Walsh's private permanent collection along with new exhibitions by international and Australian artists. The works themselves focus mostly on death and mortality - a little bit dark, but totally captivating. #MonaMuseum#CamronTravels

You don't know fear until you've lost your grandparents in an underground museum #monamuseum
Oh MONA we ❤️ you. The Museum of Old and New Art is just a twenty minute drive from Hobart or if you haven't got wheels, hop on the MONA ferry and enjoy the view from the River Derwent while sipping some bubbles, possibly while astride a sheep statue. Or go the full shebang and travel in the Posh Pit where drinks, canapes and even inflated egos are included 😜😆 Thanks for sharing this great snap with us @caithession
'Charles Ross was one of the original landscape artists that now have etched their way across mid-western USA. I recently visited Star Axis, as it nears completion in New Mexico, four decades after it began. Our ambition is more modest. For us Charles is carving up the gizzards of light, just as rainbows do.'
Spectrum Chamber is now open. Swipe to see more.

Expressions of interest open today for Suspended Moment: The Katthy Cavaliere Fellowship, a major new artist fellowship in the name of Italian born Australian artist Katthy Cavaliere (1972–2012). The fellowship, made possible with funds from Cavaliere’s Estate in partnership with Mona, @ACCA_Melbourne and @Carriageworks, will be granted to three female-identifying Australian artists working at the crossroads of performance and installation.
The fellowship comprises three $100,000 grants, awarded to three artists or collectives for the purpose of realising an ambitious new work. In 2020, Suspended Moment will be a cross-institutional presentation with each partnering institution presenting one of the three commissions and accompanied by a publication.

A peek into my mind when I meditate 🤗🙏🏽 So I truly believe meditation can occur in thousands of forms. Personally my mind is always overthinking so it was pretty hard for me to meditate at first! But fear not if you’re just like me and feel restless when trying to meditate try my trick - think of a well or a hole and start entering it, just tell you mind keep on going as many times as you need. Go deeper and deeper towards that central point until you only think of this journey you’re now on and nothing else. If you have other thoughts just focus back to that central point and trust me if you do this each day for even a minute you will feel so much better! #akashxaustralia

@monamuseum looks very intricate and fancy reflected in the River Derwent! Mona is Australia's largest private museum and one of the most controversial private collections of modern art and antiquities in the world. Prepare to be pushed outside the norm! Thanks @christannachy for sharing this beautiful shot with #HobartandBeyond. ✖️➕
