Even though I was thoroughly enjoying a cozy lazy morning with pj’s, blanket, coffee and Dr Phil😂, Had to get up and get my body moving reminding myself that it’s a privilege to work out.
Because when we have that mindset, it’s never a chore but a choice.👊
Time to work! #Day18#AAA
These bands may look innocent but man do they work 😜💪🍑🔥
A day late, but #flexfriday over here.
Let me tell you about these muscles. I don’t remember the last time I had arm muscles or could lift heavier then 10 pound weights. Maybe college? I was a swimmer in college and never had to think about being “in shape”. I swam 4 hours a day, lifted 3-4 times a week, and did dry land workouts on a regular basis.
AFTER college I had NO IDEA how to workout let alone eat right. So I started running. While that helped me LOSE weight, I didn’t know how to eat or how to tone. I signed up for races and completed them. But I soon HATED going for a run. It was like a chore and no longer fun.
So an old high school teammate of mine was doing these AT HOME workouts. She was losing weight, eating right, and LOVING it. So I decided to give it a try. HEck what would I lose?! It was cheaper then my gym membership.
2 1/2 years later and I’m hooked! I workout harder and smarter then I ever have. I have personal trainers that help me get the most out of my workout. I spend 30-60 minutes focusing on the right body parts. The BEST PART I have also learned how to eat right!
Are you struggling with your workouts?! Message me and give these at home workouts a try!

I’ve recently grown to love mushrooms AGAIN and Ive been eating them up every chance I get! Mushrooms are one of those foods that people either seem to LOVE or HATE... and lately I am LOVING them.
With my focus on health and wellness I’ve been focusing on fun ways to get in all my veggies. So I’ve been cooking mushrooms up and adding them to all of my meals and salads and now with the cold weather mushroom soups! Here’s a great quick and easy recipe below👇🏼
Instant pot wild mushroom soup
2 tsp oil
1/2 onion (chopped)
3 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
1 jalapeño (finely chopped)
8 oz mushrooms (sliced - white or cremini or a mix with portobello, shittake)
1 cup wild rice blend or pure wild rice
1 tsp poultry seasoning (or Mrs. Dash seasoning)
1 tsp taco seasoning
1/2 tsp dried thyme
4 cups water (or veggie broth)
3/4 tsp salt (less or more, depending on taste)
1/2 cup salsa , or use finely chopped tomato
1/2 cup vegan cream cheese (or cashew cream)
pepper flakes/black pepper and fresh herbs for garnish
1. Set your Instant Pot to sauté.
Add the oil, when hot then add onion, garlic, jalapeño, mushrooms and a good pinch of salt. Cook for 2 to 3 mins. (You can also add 1/4 cup white wine and cook for a min)
2. Add the rice, spices, herbs, salt, water/broth and salsa**. Mix well. (At this point, you can also add in some (1 cup) rehydrated soy curls or any vegan chicken substitutes if you like.) Close the lid and cancel saute.
3. Pressure cook for 30 to 35 mins(hi pressure). Then let the pressure release naturally before opening.
4. Open the lid and give it a good mix. Add vegan cream cheese or cashew cream. Set to sauté and mix well. Let the mixture start to boil. Once it has heated through, taste and adjust the salt, flavor and heat. At this point, you can also fold in some baby spinach or other baby greens and Add more liquid if needed for soupier.
5. Switch off sauté and let sit for a min. Garnish with generous black pepper or pepper flakes. Serve with garlic
Exercise does not have to be complicated. I hear these statements so often from moms- “I’ve kind of lost my identity as a new mom, I can’t do exercise classes because my bladder just ain’t the same as it used to be, I feel embarrassed working out in front of other people, I can’t go to the gym because I have little kids at home...I don’t have the right equipment....I can’t commit to do an intense program, I barely have enough energy to make it through the day with my kids much less exercise..” I have one response...I have sooo been there! I get it, every single statement. What if exercise didn’t have to be complicated? What if you didn’t have to enter in a spartan race or become a cross fit whiz, marathon runner, or Patagonia mom? Haha, you know what I mean don’t you? What about doing exercise that helps you get your core back in check, your pelvic floor back to normal, and your overall health to a state that gives you the best shot at longevity with your family? What about getting your mind sorted out with your identity as a new mom? That’s what I’m about. Exercise shouldn’t be scary or discouraging. It seems people are often under the impression that if you can’t commit to being a pro athlete then what’s the point, it’s too much. I’m about getting back to basics. To help mamas strengthen the areas that become weak as a natural part of pregnancy and child birth. It doesn’t matter if you are 6 weeks post partum or 6 years post partum. It’s never too late girls. And it can be completely attainable. Any exercise and effort is better than none any day, and you DON’T have to go to a gym to do it. #beenthere#simplicity#fitmoms#backtobasics#postpartum#postpartumfitnessjourney#momswholift#momsofinstagram#momswithmuscle#fitspiration#onedayatatime#realmoms#reallife#pelvicfloorstrength#corestrength
Momma has contacts in and eye shadow on- it’s a special day! 😆
I’ve been wearing my glasses A LOT this year because of dry eyes and was worried about putting contacts in for some family pictures today (I almost always have an issue with at least one😏), but so far so good! 🙏🤗
Happy Saturday, friends!

Insanely harder than they look as you can see me mouthing profanities. Nordic ham curls will be a part of my weekly leg workouts thanks to @bretcontreras1 Excited to see the changes that happen with adding these in. For hypertrophy do a rep range of 6-12 reps. I did 5 sets today along with the workout in my stories today. Here’s to not walking tomorrow.

That time I did my first AND last triathlon!.. it wasn’t pretty!🤣
BUT....HUGE congrats to this guy for qualifying for Nationals!❤️ SO stinking proud of him! Cleveland.... here we come! 🏊🏼♂️🚴🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️! If you see him around..... give him a 👊🏼!
When it comes to losing weight, why do we think we have to go from 0 to 💯 and do the hard stuff first or do it ALL at once?? We think we have to try elaborate fancy recipes, do complicated workouts, keto diets, intermittent fasting, carb cycling, counting macros, or use a variety of crazy supplements.
Here’s the thing though:
👉🏻 It’s all about the BASICS....and most of us suck at the basics! 👈🏻 😲
•Drink enough water
•Get enough sleep
•Slow down when you eat...to the point of being content not full
•Eat some veggies and portion out your food •MOVE your body
These things are your training wheels of a healthy lifestyle...and you don’t have to focus on all of them at once! Pick ONE to focus on this next week. Master it until it becomes a HABIT and then add another one in!
If you’re already thinking about 2019 and possibly weight loss goals already, PUMP THE FRICKIN’ BRAKES a bit and work on this simple stuff first!!
Which one do you need to work on most??? Does this mindset help take off some of the pressure? You don’t HAVE to be all or nothing my friends....I hear that from a lot of people and that’s a LIMITING BELIEF about yourself that you can change!!!
I started experimenting with this cool swing out entry to a leg hang this week. It was so much fun to really swing on out there like a monkey, but I struggled a little bit with securely catching my knee for the outside leg hang (if you watch closely, you can see me starting to slide down the pole before I switched to my inside leg). Definitely another movie that I want to practice more and clean up... I can see it becoming one of my favourites!

Be bold. Be wild. Be strong. Be confident. Be independent and intelligent. Be brave enough to be real in this fake world. Redefine beauty.
Took my first bro-selfie in my new gym today. Sorry @kcflexfitness 😂. I’ve managed to do two days of lifting, and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy at all. My strength has depleted a significant amount along with my muscle mass. It sucks, bad, but I will say I’m pretty grateful I had a nine month “break”. Not only did I get a beautiful son out of it BUT I know my body did need a break from heavy training everyday for about six years. Starting over gives you a new respect for the sport and makes you choose if you really want it or not. AND YOUR GIRL WANTS IT! Just wait for my comeback 🥇😈
