Family isn’t always easy. Especially when you come from a “broken home”. My mom and dad got divorced when I was nine, and it was ugly. For years, I went back and forth across the country, living with one and then the other. I finally moved out when I was 17 and began working on my own story. Today, my family is still scattered all over the country and getting time to see them doesn’t happen very often. So, when I married @kevinharrer pieces of my broken childhood heart started to come back and all the little cracks began to fill in. A year later, I had our son Maverick and all I can say is that my heart has never known love like this. 💕Watching these two interact and my husband being a dad to my son fills me up so much I bubble over with love. The way my son puts his little hands on my face and looks in my eyes and says “oh mama, you’re the best!” or “I just love you, mama.” man, it sends me to the moon. 🌙 These two have become my family and hanging out with just the three of us means more to me than anything in the world. Especially during times like now, when I have to be away for days, because I know when I get to see them again, my little family will fill my heart up and I will be home. 💖

Let’s talk sleep! The number one help for sleep....are you ready for it? It may surprise you! It’s the SUN! That’s right. We have an artificial light epidemic in our country. We wake up by an artificial alarm, turn on our artificial lights and then go to another building with artificial lights. Sit there all day (sit, not move) and then come home after dark with more artificial lights, including our phones which emit BLUE light which keeps our cortisol high and our melatonin suppressed. It’s a vicious circle. Ever wonder why you feel so great when you go to the beach on vacation? MAGNESIUM from the ocean salt and the SUNshine all day long. We were created to be in the sun and not fear it. There’s literally nothing to fear about it. Everything you’ve been taught is based on greed and corruption. Did you know that sunscreen has actually been proven to cause skin cancer, NOT the sun? But back to why the sun helps sleep. We have certain receptors in our eyes that when it sees the sun within an hour of waking up, having the sunlight beam on your face even for 10-20 minutes, allows your cortisol which is controlled mostly by your circadian rhythm, to spike as it should. Around 8-10am is when it spikes and then SHOULD gradually decrease steadily until it gets dark outside and your melatonin actually increases which makes you sleepy. So getting that morning sun allows your body to sleep better and more deeply that night! Your melatonin production also helps dictate your SEROTONIN production which we all know is our happy hormone. The same is true for the evening, getting the evening sun at sunset further tells your circadian rhythm, which tells your melatonin to increase which helps you fall asleep and stay asleep until the next morning. Limiting blue light after sundown is important too. But the SUN is your friend. Use it to your advantage! 💙 Happy Sunning friends (getting in the sun for 10-20 min in the morning and at sunset!) ☀️

Not because I don't believe on order, discipline and structure but because life is strict. There are days as you get older that just are not as much fun as they used to be. So let them be kids. Let them be little. Let them explore and make memories! That is how they learn, anyways!
You know the saying that is on social media that goes somewhere along the lines of.... Back in my day we got to stay out past Sunset.....we got to drink from the garden hose without worrying, we got to sit in the front seat with Dad! Back seats didn't have buckles.... all these things that we got to do that no longer can be done legally or are a health scare or because things have just simply changed. Those are the days that made for us the best memories. Let's help our kids create the same!

Miss A had soooo much fun at the playground this weekend! It was so nice having all 5 of us together, usually it’s just me on the weekends with the kids and it’s so hard trying to keep all 3 kids entertained; especially when there’s such a large age gap between them.

How cute is he!? Do you ever look at your little one and wonder what they will be when they grow up? You watch their personality and traits develop. We see the way they begin to problem solve and how they find solutions. Analyzing if they’re hands will help them to be a builder or their minds will make them into a doctor.
I often wonder what Mason will be. All I know is I want to be there to encourage his growth and his passion. I want to be there when he hits speed bumps and give him the light push to get over. I NEED to be a strong role model for him and show him that he can achieve anything he sets his mind to.
