I wanted to talk about something that I've been noticing a lot through social media lately.
A lot of account stating the idea that "success=money". Illustrating the idea that if you don't grow to be a millionaire you have then failed. Or if you'll spend your life being an employee and not a CEO of your own company you have failed too.
Well I personally think that this is too wrong.
First of all money isn't a goal and shouldn't be. Wanting to have your own business is just another type of job. It's not a specific successful path that every body should follow.
And let me give you an example.
In academia, science means knowledge and understanding. It means spending most of your life or all of it trying to understand the world and everything within it. It means finding answers to questions that we haven't asked yet. Many scientists from all over the world spent their entire life making this world a better place. They weren't millionaire, nor rich and they used to get paid as any other employee.. Does this mean they failed their lives?
Of course not. Simply cause being rich wasn't their goal.
What I'm trying to say is that being rich is not a goal that everybody have. And believe me I was never rich and yet Im doing fine. Why would I need a huge expensive car or two?
Why would I need a huge house where I'll barely need only a room in? Why would I need way too much expensive trendy clothes when I'll only wear a shirt and jeans?
As long as I have enough food a roof over my head and some clothes I'll be just fine and most of you will be.
Why always talking about money and make it look like it means success when it cleary doesn't. .
You want to be successful ask yourself what you have done in this world since you have been in it?
What you have done to make this earth better? What you have done to make another human life better?
What you have done worth mentioning once you leave this world?
Have you been kind to someone in need, someone less fortunate then you? Have you took care of this beautiful planet of yours while you were here? Have you respected all the other living things that shares this place with you?
This is the kind of contributions that matters.
