Walking through the streets my parents grew up and hearing their stories make me smile. Makes me appreciate every moment even more with them.

Pink tortillas anyone? Turns out, these beauties were an accidental creation by the chef at @lapitahayavegana who happened to drop some beetroot juice on his tortilla dough. Some trial, error and loads of inspiration from Chef’s Table later, the result is now served in his small, delicious restaurant. We were lucky to get a peek into the kitchen, and had a chance to taste their specials on the menu. The restaurant made us realize that it doesn’t take a lot to innovate with plant based meals. The ingredients are right there, if only we’d look. We were totally blown away by the use of coconut flesh, and edible cactus vegetable in their cuisine. Swipe to see the crew and their kitchen in action!

Siempre vive tu día a día como si fuera el último, y pregúntate si querrías hacer lo que haces en ese momento, si la respuesta "no" es repetitiva, algo anda mal. -Steve Jobs
Mexico City Metro
Ignore the naysayers: the oft-maligned metro network is not as dangerous as people think, it's incredibly cheap and it's the second-largest train system in North America, turning a vast and complicated city into an open book. Plus, the stations are filled with charming flourishes that celebrate the city's rich cultural offerings. The Templo Mayor may be pretty much gone but visit the Zocalo station for an illuminating scale model. 🇲🇽 🇬🇧 If you are looking for a guide to Mexico City in English, follow; @jsreview 🇺🇸 🇲🇽 #mexicocityofficial#cdmx#visitmexico#mexicocity#mexicodf#banditachilanga#mexicocitymetro

Barbacoa Tacos 🌮
The name refers to the traditional method of preparation where the entire animal is cooked in an underground oven pit. The meat is wrapped in maguey leaves and left to cook for up to ten hours. In Mexico City barbacoa refers to lamb (under one year old) or mutton (over one year old) but each region has its barbacoa protein preference. Barbacoa is especially popular on weekends when vendors who have prepared it in the country bring it to the city to be enjoyed over long, leisurely lunches. 🇲🇽 🇬🇧 If you are looking for a guide to Mexico City in English, follow; @jsreview 🇺🇸 🇲🇽 📸: @poryss@photos_tacosdorados@eldelbuencolmillo#tacodebarbacoa#mexicanfood#visitmexico#mexicantacos#mexicocity#mexicocityofficial
