Fryday feature 🍟! One of my favorite treats in Seattle are these delicious crispy, perfectly seasoned harra frites from @mamnoonrestaurant 🤤 Served up with some harissa ketchup and zataar aioli it hits the spot every time! .
They have an extensive #vegetarian menu so they are on our #ratedv list for sure!
#fbf You know when people ask you when you were the happiest? This is one of my mine. For a month I lived on a Greek island caring for two awesome dogs and a sweet rescue donkey, and my days were mine and mine alone. The Meltemi winds were still blowing, and I remember loving that word so much; it put me in mind of those zephyr faces you see in the corners of old maps. I slept when I wanted, ate when I wanted, wrote if I felt like it, trekked down to the sea to swim beneath the ruins of a temple dedicated to the island's deity Aphaia, and otherwise roamed around the backyard olive grove and dreamed. (I also learned that you can't just grab a fistful of olives off a tree and pop them in your mouth. Man, did I learn.) When I ran out of clean clothes I just belted a piece of cloth around myself. I had just met my now-husband who, after only knowing me a few days, flew to Athens to meet me for a Before Sunrise-esque date. I can count on one hand with fingers left the number of people I interacted with, but they were really chill. I didn't have a lot of money by that point, having budgeted my way through the summer, but I also wanted for very little. I was truly happy. I know that kind of life isn't necessarily realistic or even sustainable, but those words have no place in dreaming anyway.
