#cistitis#ejercicio#salud#sexualidad#lifestyle#sana#vejiga#exercise#love#healthyfood#medicine#free

This is an excerpt from “Anti-Cancer: A New Way of Life” by David Servan-Schreiber,Md, PhD. He is a neuroscientist who changed the way he thought about eating, nutrition and exercise to combat his surprise brain tumor diagnosis. I have just started reading this novel and it’s something I wished I had found years ago. There’s a lot of talk about medications and pharmaceutical treatment lately, and less about lifestyle modification. This book pinpoints the lifestyle changes, supplements, exercise, yoga, and nutrition that can combat inflammation and chronic disease.
Here, we look at proteins, grains, fats, herbs and vegetables that can help nourish the body with key vitamins and antioxidants to create a healthy body and mindset. Personally, I snack and have bread and refined grains once in a while, and it’s not the end of the world. But Basing meals on these 5 foods can make a hell of a difference in your diet, your energy, sleep habits, joint health and overall mood. 😎
Varicose veins, also known as varicoses or varicosities, occur when your veins become enlarged, dilated, and overfilled with blood. Varicose veins typically appear swollen and raised, and have a bluish-purple or red color. They are often painful.
The condition is very common, especially in women. Around 25 percent of all adults have varicose veins. In most cases, varicose veins appear on the lower legs.
Varicose veins may be invisible because of fat between your muscles and skin, but they can still cause symptoms like throbbing and swelling in the legs. Around 25 percent of adults have varicose veins,
Causes of varicose veins:
Varicose veins occur when veins aren’t functioning properly. Veins have one-way valves that prevent blood from flowing backward. When these valves fail, blood begins to collect in the veins rather than continuing toward your heart. The veins then enlarge. Varicose veins often affect the legs. The veins there are the farthest from your heart, and gravity makes it harder for the blood to flow upward.
Some potential causes for varicose veins include:
* age over 50.
* standing for long periods of time.
* family history of varicose veins.
Treatment can be either conservative or active. Active treatments can be divided into surgical and non-surgical treatments. Newer methods including endovenous laser treatment, radiofrequency ablation and foam sclerotherapyappear to work as well as surgery for varices of the greater saphenous vein.
Ever wonder how paramedics determine if someone is having a heart attack? 12 lead ECG interpretation is a tool used in the field to determine if a patient is having a ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) requiring immediate cardiac intervention. This was the ECG of a 60 year old male patient complaining of chest pressure. Do you see the changes? Hint: they’re circled 😊 #paramedic#myemsday#healthcare#paramediclife#paramedics#ambulance #911 #medicine#stemi#cardiaccare#ems

Ginger, Fennel, Orange = Medicine. Slice the ginger thin, cut your oranges in segments, julienne your fennel and squeeze the leftover orange parts for the juices. And my friends you have created a tasty bowl of pure cold-flu fighting medicine.

Whenever I find myself ruminating, when I get stuck in my thoughts, when I feel fear and anxiety slowly creeping up, I know it's time to go outside...
Within minutes of being in nature, I open to my senses and I remember... ✨
I remember awe, beauty, appreciation and simplicity... ✨
And just like that, my mind is clearer, my nervous system is recalibrated and my soul is deeply soothed... ✨

Saturday morning study for an upcoming therapeutics exam ✌🏻 .
1️⃣ I don’t like studying from lecture slides so I type up notes to reorganize information.
2️⃣ Then, I skim the textbook chapter of the lecture before class.
3️⃣ After class, I go through my notes supplementing along with the textbook.
It took me just over a year to finally make this method a study habit/ routine, which works best for me because pharmacy school has been very different from undergraduate years.
In Pharmacy school (and likely so in other schools), finding out the best way for you to digest a LOT of information is very important.
On the craft, secrecy & protection 🧿✏️🌀 I have long felt in conflict between the desire to share ~ whether it be information, experiences, instances of magic at work~ and the equally powerful need to keep things private. It wasn’t until the last few years it became apparent to me how deep this feeling of needing to be private ran. It’s ancestral. Many of my Sicilian ancestors lived their lives in service to their community. They grew & made medicine, facilitated birth, healed with spirit. While they were largely taken care of by those they served, they still lived under constant threat by the authorities of their time. Witches and lineage healers of Italy are particularly private people, though there are common threads that constitute the craft of the region, there really isn’t one practice, with each family have a very personalized approach that they keep secret.
While I was making this during the fall, I was thinking a lot about this. I had recently come across some really old protection masks from Sardinia and Sicily and was told many stories regarding how they came about and were used by one of my teachers/guides, Eleanor. Much different from the more well known Carnival Masks made and worn in celebration throughout Italy, these masks weren’t worn at all. They were carefully crafted by women to serve as talismans, made ceremonially, guided by spirit, imbued with protection spells. In this art making process these women directed their energy toward empowering themselves and other women doing this work.
Here I was again thinking about this age old connection between art and magic ~ Art as a form of Magic, one that enables us to share our truths with each other, that function to protect & represent us. So this is both a record of these protection masks and their makers, as well as a representation of this intimate connection. A story told in a way that keeps it safe.
