Goooood morning, Instagram! ❤️ #happydog#tuesdaymotivation#thebestpartofwakingup#destinythepibble#pitbull#masticatorymusclemyositis
Just in case anyone asks, the reason Destiny and Idgie are separated is because Idgie is unpredictable. She’s the dog I transported 17 hours for a military family to a foster who was going to keep her while they were deployed. Alas, the foster bailed, I drove back to get her, then the military family bailed. So I was stuck with an anxiety-ridden, allergy prone, destructive, unpredictable dog who would fight. A year later, I have a healthy, balanced, happy dog (and repaired wood trim and walls) who I’m still a little nervous about introducing to Destiny. If a fight did occur, the stress of it could trigger her MMM and we’d have to start all over on her treatment. So, until I’m completely comfortable and certain things will go well, the gate is a great solution. They do, on occasion, sit together for treats and pics, but no slumber parties. 😊
I'm not sure there's another creature on this planet who lives more in the moment than this girl. Maja had TPLO surgery last spring to fix her knee, and suffered through a scary auto-immune disease called masticatory muscle myositis this fall. Her body has changed a lot this year, but her spirit remains exuberant, joyful, and curious. So we kicked off the week by laying down some fresh tracks together. And she sends. ♥️ #motivationmonday#majadog#masticatorymusclemyositis#mondaymeditation#pitbullsofinstagram
This is one of the handsome boys Mama taked pictures of today. Here’s his story...
A chain. A little patch of dirt. No one really cared for him. And one day, his owners just dumped him off at the shelter – wearing the chain he'd lived on his whole life.
The shelter rallied, asking for a rescue and @arftulsa stepped up for him. King's been through heartworm treatment, been dog tested, and this fella passed everything with flying colors. He's good with kids, dogs, cats, you name it.
King is still a little shy, so he'd like to take it slow with whomever steals his heart. You know – dinner, treats, and maybe a few sweet kisses to start! Are you that one? Let's give King his happily ever after!
Fill out an app at arftulsa.org or call (918) 622-5962 to set-up an appointment to see him. ❤️ #rescuedog#adoptdontshop#shelterdog#petphotographer#destinythepibble#pitbull#masticatorymusclemyositis
Once again, River has come out the other side of a bad situation as a champ. My tough baby girl. Mystery illness has plagued her for six days and with the help of an INCREDIBLE VETERINARIAN @kristinjmacdonald at Suburban Animal Hospital in Gainesville she is new again! 😘❤️ She’s been through a lot this year- ACL repair, two attacks from a neighborhood dog and now this. She’s not an inexpensive pet but when I look into those carmel whiskey eyes (swipe all the way left) I can’t help but open my wallet 🤷🏼♀️💸
WARNING - A COUPLE OF GRAPHIC PICS, BUT HAPPY ENDING PICS, TOO. ❤️ Over 100 puncture wounds crisscrossed her body. Rips and tears everywhere because of a neglectful owner who let her two other dogs use Princess as a chew toy. If not for a Good Samaritan and @amorepitbullrescue, Princess would have died. ❤️
Princess was relinquished to Aunt Misty at Amoré. The Dogtor was horrified at the wounds covering her body – new and old. She spent weeks in the doggie hospital, then went to Aunt Misty’s rescue.
Everybody and nobody wanted her. They didn’t understand the trauma and heartbreak poor Princess went through. So she waited. And waited. And waited. ❤️
Then Mama’s good friend, Aunt Susan, called with devastating news – Gypsy had died. Mama helped Gypsy find a home years ago with Susan’s brother, Randy, where they traveled the country in his motor home. Randy was beyond devastated and heartbroken. ❤️
Mama started thinking. And wondering. And hoping...
So time passed and Mama mentioned Princess to Randy. He agreed to meet her. ❤️
And fell in love. Their hearts spoke to one another. And best of all, she even acted like his beloved Gypsy. So Lil G (Little Gypsy) was reborn and they are living happily ever after. Love healed their hearts. ❤️
Lil G’s story is why we work so hard on the Monster Holiday Drive each year – so rescues like Amoré don’t have to worry about essentials. We want to make a difference with more dogs like her, so please consider donating to our wishlist (link in bio). Thank YOU for helping us make a difference. ❤️ You can follow Lil G on Facebook @gypsythepitbull#destinythepibble#monsterholidaydrive#lovechangeseverything#love
Gracie – shot point blank and left to die – is one of the beneficiaries of our Monster Holiday Drive. If Mama hadn’t answered that message from a lady in Canada asking for help for a dog in Seguin TX, Gracie’s story mighta turned out way sad. But Mama answered, @amorepitbullrescue stepped up, and now Gracie is happy and healthy. ❤️ Amoré is again one of the beneficiaries of our drive this year. Click the link in our bio to get things they need to help more dogs like Gracie. ❤️ tiny.cc/monsterdrive ❤️
The horrific act left Gracie blind in her right eye with bone fragments and buckshot embedded in her mouth, and made it difficult to eat or drink. Swipe left to see Gracie now after surgeries to remove the buckshot and fix her mouth so she can eat properly again. ❤️
