•••Meet the designer•••⠀
My maiden name is Anya Sushko. I am the designer, maker and passionate creator 😊 ⠀
I originally come from Riga, Latvia but have been living in England since 2001. I graduated from St Martin’s and London College of Fashion and I worked for Alexander McQueen on his 2006 AW collection. ⠀
I didn’t just wake up one day knowing I wanted to be a handbag designer and certainly not a maker! It took me ages to find what my passion is. ⠀
I firstly tried Management in Tourism back at home but couldn’t pass my math exam ☹️ so left that uni. Then I decided to become a psychologist but shortly after that dropped out of uni again. Then I finally found what I wanted to do and it was Interior Design. I competed a diploma in Riga and wanted to become an architect but my goals quickly changed as soon as I arrived in London where probably every one is so crazy about F A S H I O N.
When I was studying at LCF I only wanted to be a designer and didn’t want to get my hands dirty working with leather. In my first year I was almost kicked out of the uni because of poor attendance and not wanting to work on prototypes, until one day I met an amazing tutor, who helped me pass all my exams, kept me at LCF and taught me how to fall in love with design development and become a passionate leather worker. ⠀
This is my story in a nutshell! 😉⠀
Please share your story with me! ⠀
