I think there's so much value of doing things that are outside our comfort zone.
M y son also stepped out of his comfort zone to play goalie today instead of his usual position. That boy is fearless and continuously pushing himself to try nre things and I am learning so much from him.
Today was one of those days. I have been wanting for a while to play those games where parents play against their kids. But not having the experience of playing hockey, I refrained from doing so, in the fear that I would make a fool of myself. It didn't help that some people would also discourage me of trying it as I was not "good enough". But today I went for it, and it was such a grear sense of accomplishment. I managed to not fall and grab the puck a couple of times. And it was more fun than I thought it would be. By putting myself out there, I got the opportunity to experience this fun event with my son, that I will cherish and add to my my ever growing repertoire of memories.
Don't settle for good enough, push yourself it will be worth it. #outofcomfortzone#hockeymom#hocheytime#nofilters#aunatural #lovemyson#havefun#worthit#workinprogress#thinkpositive#liveyourlifeyourway#igotthis#makememories

Before we went to the Grand Canyon, I never put much thought into my expectations of seeing it in person.
Our experience at the GC was so much more than I could have imagined. We took the Canyon in from Devil’s Point to Pima Point. That allowed us the opportunity to see the beautiful layered red rocks, California Condors, mule deer, elk and exceptional local artwork. We got caught in an unexpected cold rainstorm that came and went within five minutes because the Canyon creates its own weather. There is so much more to appreciate at the GC than just stepping to a ledge and looking a mile down or staring at the horizon. Make sure when you visit, to use all your senses.

This travel journal was personalised for a customer, and I often think about all the amazing places people take my books to. I’m grateful to each and every person who has ordered something from my little shop, and appreciate all the wonderful reviews I have received over the years (shared a few recent ones on my stories).

Life is tough and short. Take a break, and slow dance in your living room. Make memories. Mike and I always joke that we were born in the wrong era. We stay up late a couple nights a week, listening to oldies. Shuffling through YouTube, watching music videos. Last night, so many songs that were "our" songs when we first started dating popped up, so we watched them. Mike stood up with his hand out for us to dance. The boys giggled a little as they watched us from their bedroom. Mason dropped what he was doing to come dance with us. After a couple dances I asked if he wanted to dance with me. He was so happy, it melted my heart. Next I asked Mikey, you know Mr. 10 year old, that thinks everything under the sun is embarrassing, told me no. That made me have a major flashback, to when I was around his age, and I told my dad no, when he asked to dance with me at a wedding we attended. I remember the look in his eyes when I told him no. And to this day, it is one of my biggest regrets, because I NEVER got to dance with him. So, I scooped Mikey up and we danced. He laughed and covered his face, but we danced.
And yes, there are people who say put the camera down and enjoy the moment. Believe me, I enjoy these moments, but pictures also mean a lot to me. I love looking through old pictures and reminiscing about the past. I want the boys to have pictures to look back on. #blessed#boymom#ilovemyboys#itsthelittlethings#dateyourspouse#slowdance#memories#makememories

Yesterday during dinner with friends we were talking about how hard our parents worked when they immigrated to Canada and how we were all raised with very strong work ethics ‘Work hard for your future and save all your money”. It’s crazy how with 4 adults around a table we were all brought up with the same mentality when it came to working and saving money.
I am so proud of my parents, they worked so hard to give us an amazing life but I have one regret for them- they worked so hard to save for their ‘retirement’ that they missed out on enjoying life in the ‘moment’ and when retirement finally came my father got sick and all those dreams and plans they had to finally be able to travel has never happened. It’s heartbreaking because they deserved it and instead of traveling to Italy, my mom sits by my dads side in a nursing home daily- my dads memories have all disappeared and mom is left with all of them alone.
This has taught me one very important thing- to live in the moment! Maybe we don’t save as much money as we should but if I die tomorrow I want my kids to have as many memories as possible of us enjoying life together.
I want them to learn that we can both work hard and enjoy life simultaneously and that as much as it’s important to plan for the future it’s just as important to live in your NOW. 💛
