I used to spend my time in the car scrolling the newsfeed... but this year is about JOY and PRESENCE... and I have found myself searching tabs of my favorite songs and serenading my husband 😂 instead of comparing myself to the highlight reels of my “friends” on social media.

This is my background picture on my phone. I struggle with anxiety so find it important to remind myself that I am in charge of my feelings even if I don’t always believe it. I had an amazing thing happen on Friday. I got on a plane and took a flight without any medication for the first time in my life. I felt the extreme fear and panic and I actually was able to center myself with my breath. It was seriously an amazing feeling for me! If you aren’t meditating yet you should try it! I’m so ready to conquer what will be a stressful week taking time to meditate daily! ♥️

We always say "dont compare your behind the scenes to someone else's highlight reel". And it's so true because comparison is life's thief of joy. But. I just wonder--what if we spent more time getting our mind right. Pouring into ourselves and being happier. Spending time with those that make us better humans because of their presence. Truly being happier because we've taken time to do what we love and what brings us joy. How would the ratio of behind the scenes days:highlight reel days begin to change? And by the way, friends, any day that fills you with joy is a highlight reel day. Makeup, no makeup, dressed up, or in your pjs, with all your friends, or in bed with your favorite book. This is early sobriety, I guess. .
Pulling into my driveway with tears pouring down my face. .
I saw a show today. A band called Pink Martini.
They played with the Tucson Symphony and floored the audience, sharing eclectic songs and killer jazz sets. .
I was a singer once, until I drank my voice away. .
I was on the wrong side of the building today. I was in the audience instead of on stage. .
And that made me angry. And sad. And regretful. .
So I let myself cry about it. I let myself have that moment. I let myself grieve for the time that I’ve wasted, because it has been so much.
So many days wasted. So many years. .
I’m lucky to start again and thank God that I’m still here. But I’m here feeling a little bit sad. But this is early sobriety, and I’m welcoming what it has to show me. .

I was in your shoes once as well. I had NO idea what I was doing. I thought going to a bunch of different fitness classes would get me to my goal. I thought running forevvvvver on the treadmill would scorch those calories and make me lose weight.
I thought cutting calories, taking diet pills and overexercising was going to get me there quicker. You know where it got me?
Feeling defeated. Feeling insecure. Feeling exhausted. A whole lot of health problems. And giving up every damn time. It almost cost me my life if not for the intervention of my family.
THAT is why I am so passionate about what DOES work. What DOES bring me success. What DOES get me results. And what DOES make me feel good.
I feel without a doubt that you would feel that way too if you just tried it. If you have been thinking about getting in shape but don’t know where to start then this is the perfect time to join me. One week into this program (with workouts 20 minutes a day, 6 days a week) I am already feeling lighter and more toned. The meal plan is simple to follow— you are eating REAL food from ALL food groups. My biggest pet peeve is people who are cutting out food groups. Just don’t do it.
Live your life. Get fit while staying happy. Start counting memories instead of macros. I wasted a big part of my life for far too long. Don’t make the same mistake I did. I have never felt better physically in my life. And I love sharing that with others.

Look at the 5 people you spend the most time with and that's your future. I've heard this quote from several of the speakers I admire most and I absolutely believe it. My closest friends and I hold eachother accountable for achieving our goals. I both love and hate this...of course on the days I'm nailing my goals I love checking in but the days I am not well I'm less enthused. I am always grateful for these women though! I am grateful to have friends who I know are my biggest cheerleaders I know they want me to succeed and be the best version of myself as I do for them. I look at my tribe of friends and I can say yes if I grow to be more like these beautiful women then I'm growing in the direction of my dreams. Thank you for pushing me and loving me just as I am. I encourage you to make sure you are surrounding yourself with the right people...the right people are for you. The right people speak good things about you behind your back. The right people make all the difference and you deserve the right people by your side : ) I am working on being a better friend too on being the same kind of friend to all my friends because I think we all deserve someone in our corner.

Thank you again for all your prayers, calls, visits, and more! We have had an outpouring of support and it means more than words can say. I did not get discharged today. The infection is more serious than I realized but the doctors are amazing and we are on the path to recovery. The goal is for me to go home in the next day or two. 🙏🏻 My mom and girls came to visit tonight which was wonderful. Elyse had a hard time saying goodbye which broke my heart 💔 but I know I’ll be home for snuggles in no time! 🤗
Never take your health for granted. I was in the 1% of possibility for this type of infection. A week in the hospital has given me so much time reflect and I know I need to make some changes to the pace of my life. Embrace every moment, hug your babies, let the dishes sit in the sink, and be ok not being able to do it all. 😘🙌

I had a moment earlier. Self-doubt started to creep in.
When you have big, scary #goals and a huge #vision that can happen. In fact, it is a daily battle to shut down the negative self-talk.
But God has planted this vision in my mind for a reason.
During moments of doubt, we have ✌️choices.
To sink back into what is comfortable. Or to rise to His calling.
It will require a huge terrifying #leapoffaith.
It requires us to give up the "good" opportunities for the "God" opportunities.
I have #faith that what He has called for my life is so much greater than the safety and security that has me feeling trapped daily.
Taking immediate action on my goal was enough to kill the doubt that crept in.
And of course I'm grateful for these #dogsnuggles right now. He knows when I need some extra love. ❤️🥜

A week ago I was at our quarterly conference and it was so POWERFUL being surround by people that have the same HUGE dreams, goals & ambitions you do!
The speaker’s story went like this..
She had fulfilled her DREAM of becoming a teacher, now making a hour long commute into the city of Compton, working all day, driving an hour back home and just being exhausted. After a year she found a different teaching job in a different part of LA but with the same crazy commute, teacher girls basketball, letting her health be the LAST thing on her to do list and simply being apart of the RAT RACE. one day she looked around her classroom and thought “is this really IT? This burnout? This exhaustion? The not being totally fulfilled? The lack of income vs the amount of work I’m doing?”
Little did she know that a simple double tap on someone’s transformation picture on the gram would cause some chick to be in her inbox the next day with something that could change her health + fitness and get compensated for sharing her journey.
6 months in she started earning enough income to QUIT her full time job of teaching and focus on what brought her happiness, health, fulfillment, tons of girlfriends + community and the income she needed to support her family.
Initially her goal was to just be able to buy the big bag of dog food. 10 months later she’s earning 10k.

We are in the third week of January and the excitement of the New Year has worn off. For some, those resolutions (still don’t like that word) made on January 1st might already be a memory. But are there any improvements you are making right now? Any intentions you made where you are making progress?
Like I said earlier this month, I like to set intentions. Just a stronger, more meaningful word for me, personally. And so far I’m doing okay with the intentions I set. I’m learning a few things along the way but mostly I’m making improvements, even if they are baby steps:
-Learning more about inflammatory foods and trying new food carefully (do not want any reactions!).
-Getting in some fun exercise daily while making sure I don’t upset my Mast Cells and cause them to have an unwelcomed party in my body!
-Getting organized in many ways: health, finances, home, etc. It seemed I needed a bit of organization in a few areas of my life but it seems like when one area gets better, the others tend to follow.
-Taking online classes and coaching! What fun!
And there are many others I could list. It sounds like I’m doing too many things but like I said – making improvements in one area seems to help the others. I call it a Domino Effect.
I hope that your intentions are coming along nicely and that you are making positive changes even if they seem small. Every step in the right direction is something to be excited about.
It took me a while to learn that loving some isn’t always enough to keep them in your life. A relationship or friendship is supposed to be MUTUAL trust, support and love. I truly used to believe if I gave my all to someone eventually they’d give there all back. I lied to myself over and over saying if I do this, if I change this, if I try harder then maybe, just maybe they will start to put in more effort. Love isn’t always enough. I’ve loved many people yet had to remove them from my life because they weren’t healthy for me, I couldn’t trust them or there was never mutual support with them. It’s okay to let go of people you love to better yourself and your life. Toxic is toxic even when you love the person that’s toxic.

#sundayfunday = an empty fitness studio at the gym.
It's my favorite. 🙌🏻 Lately, I head in there without a plan. Just me 🙋🏼♀️, some tunes 🎧, and the desire to move 💃🏼. You could catch me doing anything from singing & dancing, to burpees, & bicep curls. It's a real hoot. (And I sincerely mean that!)
Fitness works the best for me when I make it fun. But, I can pretty much guarantee that my version of fun won't look like yours. So if you want to be more active this year, my challenge to you is this:
Keep your eyes on your own paper. Don't peek at your neighbor, & copy what they wrote down just because it looks right. Figure it out for yourself, and you'll be set up for success. 💪🏻😘

I’ve spent so many years pushing myself down, changing myself to please others, letting others define who I thought I was and hiding who I truly was in fear of others hating me or not liking my truest self. I spent years silencing my voice because I didn’t want to bother others with what I had to say. Today I look back a that broken girl I used to be and remind myself every single day that I can accomplish my dreams, I have a voice and deserve to speak my truth, I am not define by others, and I deserve to be the truest version of myself because I wasn’t made to live half of who I am. I only get one life and I’m no longer going to waste it worrying about how others perceive me, I want to be happy with how I see myself. Today I live for me.

THE BEST zucchini pizza boats 🍕
4 medium zucchini, halved lengthwise
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 (8-oz.) jar low sugar marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1/4 cup mini nitrate free pepperoni
Chopped fresh basil, or parsley, as the garnish
1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f.
2) Use a spoon to scoop the seeds and center out of each zucchini half, leaving a ¼ inch thick zucchini boat
3) In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add scooped zucchini and sauté for about 2-3 minutes, then pour in marinara, stir to combine
4) Place the zucchini boats in a large, rimmed baking dish cut-side up. I like to sprinkle the zucchini boats with just a touch of garlic salt, then spoon the warmed sauce into the boats evenly, and top with mozzarella, and finally the mini pepperoni
5) Bake in your preheated oven until zucchini is tender and cheese is golden, about 15 minutes
6) Garnish with fresh basil, or parsley

How many of you have a hard time of letting go or dwelling in the past? 🙋🏻♀️ Did you have a rough upbringing? Were there past hurts that still haunt you today? 🙋🏻♀️ Did you make decisions that you wish you could take back? 🙋🏻♀️There is no way to change what happened in the past but you can make a decision to start where you are and change the ending. 💗🙌🏼
Dwelling on the past keeps us stagnant and in the same place. Letting go, forgiving, pushing past the pain and hurt allows us to go forward and leaving behind the things that are holding us back from becoming all that the Lord has for us. 💗 We all wish we could take back something we said or did! 🙋🏻♀️There might be a situation where someone said or did something hurtful to you. 🙋🏻♀️ so how do we move forward and let go of the pain and hurt that someone else caused? 🤷🏽♀️
We have to make the decision to push delete and start again. Forgiving others and ourselves help clear the way for a happy ending. 💗🙌🏼 At the end of your life do you want to look back with regret or do you want to look back and say wow . . what a life I had. 💗🙌🏼 I don’t want to look back with regret so I let go of all the things that hurt me in the past! I forgive myself and others for things that caused hurt and pain. 💗🙌🏼 I make a daily effort to be the kind of human I want others to be. . . .one that is loving, generous, compassionate, mindful and putting others ahead of myself. 💗🙋🏻♀️For me, the only way I can accomplish these things is with a relationship with the Lord. 💗🙌🏼 Jesus, came to earth over 2000 years ago to take all the pain, sickness, and sin upon Himself so that we might have a good ending. All we have to do is receive Him, love Him and follow what He says in His Word. 💗🙌🏼 Will we make mistakes along the way . . yes. Will others say or do something to hurt us . .. most likely . . yes. But having the Lord inside us and beside us helps us to react differently. 💗🙌🏼 So, remember as this quote says, “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” Have a blessed Sunday! 💗💗💗 #sundaymorning#sundaybest
