I remember these days. Lucy was 2 & Nora was awaiting her arrival into the world. I remember being sleep-deprived even BEFORE Nora was born 🤣😭. My head was full of dreams for my children. But also full of questions.
What would Nora look like? Would I ❤️ her as much as I ❤️ her big sister? There were so many unknowns swirling around in my head, so instead of focusing on the uncertainties, I decided to write songs filled with truth & hope & peace. These songs turned into the lullaby album I Dream of You.
They’re filled with lyrics like, “The sun will rise, however the long the night,” and, “You’re not too small to do great things,” and, “The love of God is evident in the miracle of you.”
These were and are the words my mama heart needs to hold onto when I start feeling overwhelmed. Motherhood is not easy by any stretch of the imagination, but it is more beautiful than we could ever hope. ✨
So here’s to all the mamas out there doing their best on a regular-old Tuesday. I’m cheering for you. You got this. 👊🏻

After buying your first home with your growing family, think about these few things when decorating the new baby’s room. 1. Add a dimmer switch to lighting, 2. Select durable, washable fabrics that can be easily cleaned, 3. Select furniture pieces that can evolve from baby to teen, 4. Think about furniture placement as baby becomes mobile, 5. Create storage options that make clean-up easy 6. Allow for some floor space so baby will have room to crawl. 7. Enjoy your bundle of joy. #firsthome#babysroom # toys #crib#playtime#lullabies#nightynight#compass#agentsofcompass#compasscomingsoon#carmenfontecillagroup
We talk a lot about Robin and Ted, Robin and Barney, Tracy and Ted...but we don't talk enough about Lily and Marshall.
Ted's relationships were all dysfunctional until Tracy. Barney was a therapist's goldmine until he grew up and settled down with Robin. And Robin had so many insecurities and daddy issues, she wasn't truly healthy until she settled down with Barney.
For now we'll ignore the nightmare that was himym's ending.
The entire series (even during their brief breakup), Lily and Marshall had the kind of relationship we should all be looking for.
Forget destiny. Forget "the one". Forget about Hollywood romance and huge gestures with blue instruments.
Marshmallow and Lilypad were a team. They were about each other as much as themselves. They appreciated each other's quirks, and they truly understood each other.
That's what we all should want. A real relationship is about compatibility and then building a life together.
And I'd say that Ted had that with Tracy.
Most of you are young and single and hoping to find "the one". Fuck that! It's really more practical than that.
Go find your Marshmallow or Lilypad and then be a team!

It’s no secret that I write a LOT of songs for my children. But pretty much every single time, I end up realizing that I need to hear the words myself. I think that’s why I’m so attached to my song Hand to Hold that I wrote with Dave & Andy Gullahorn.
If I’m not careful, I’ll spend my whole life tucked away in “safety” & end up missing the whole thing. Yes, this world is scary, but it’s way too wonderful & beautiful to miss. And so, my friends, may you never lose the wonder in your soul. ✨

Auditory stimulation 🔊
Babies start to hear sounds as early as 18th week in the womb🤰. They are accustomed to hearing the beats of your heart 💓, melody of your voice 🗣️ and periodic rumbles of your tummy. This is the reason why they respond to white noise well, they can relate to womb settings.
Listening to music during pregnancy 🤰 has a great role to play in their development. Continuing it through early infancy helps to build nerve connections, they have sharper brains ⚡ and this has been proven scientifically!! 👩🔬 Any sort of music you enjoy is fine, but proven benefits are with classical music be it Mozart or Ustaads🎼 (Hindustani classical)
Nivedita, a parenting & child development coach @joyfulparenting.co.in recommends making them listen to the same kind of music daily for a month to avail the benefits. More so when done in their sleep which I will talk in my post on stimulation of subconscious mind!
Taking the babies out not only helps them get fresh air & aquaints them to the environment but also expose them to various sounds like chirping birds 🐦& buzzing bees.🐝 Nursery rhymes & lullabies🎶 are composed to cater to babies! Rhymes work well in grabbing their attention, it also calms my son down when combined with hand gestures. Lullabies with their monotonous tune and repetitive rhythm puts them to sleep.
Reciprocating to the sounds they make, mimicking their babbles & speaking gibberish is not only auditory stimulation but improves their language skills too!
Age old rattles always come to rescue to distract them and even check their auditory senses. Musical toys are always their favourite!
This really is one of my fave albums of sleepy songs that we play on Little Rockers Radio.
Baby Mine, Rock a Bye Baby, Fireflies, In My Arms & Sleep Little Baby... just a few of the gorgeous tracks. 🎶
Beautiful music for beautiful sleeping babies... #hopefully 🤞🤞🤞
Happy #favoritethingsfriday! Today I wanted to share a mom tip that has totally transformed our bedtime routine: lullabies by @jjhellermusic.
Don’t know about you, but I previously had a love-hate relationship with bedtime. I’d do our whole routine, tuck my kids in and inevitably one or both of them would start making requests:
“Mom, one more story!”
“Mom, I’m thirsty!”
“Can you sing me a song?”
All I wanted was to close the door and be done for the day! — —
But then I heard JJ at our women’s retreat a few years ago and downloaded her album “I Dream of You.” I picked a song and would play it when tucking Lila in. It was a game changer! Instead of wanting to rush out the door, I’d tear up at the lyrics and started to cherish bed time more and more because it was precious time with her.
I started the routine with William too. Almost every night I am a puddle of tears, praising God for the privilege of being the mom to these two precious kids. Don’t get me wrong, there are still days when I’m ready to be off duty, but these beautiful songs slow me down and help me to linger with my kids a little longer. We have precious conversations and snuggles that I’d probably miss out on if we hadn’t started this routine.
So go download this amazing music! She has a new album releasing soon, Better Together, a few of the songs are available now. We ❤️them over here. — —
Lila and I got to meet JJ and Dave last year @cswomen’s Christmas concert. So fun!
🎉 Review Time 🎉
Recently, Bentley has been loving falling asleep to lullabies, probably because that’s what happens at day care! A couple of weeks ago we decided to do some research into which soothing sound products would be most useful, practical (could be taken with us on nights away) and have the best soothing sounds. 📖
We found two big contenders and couldn’t decide which one until we saw them in person 👪
So... We headed off to @baby.bunting and after looking at both, we decided to grab this absolutely adorable little lion sound soother and night light from @projectnursery 😍🦁
Leo, as we have been calling him, has 3 beautiful soothing sounds, heartbeat 💕, waves 🌊 and white noise and 3 lullabies 🎼 Brahms' Lullaby, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. Leo also is a wonderful nightlight 💡 which has 3 dim settings and provides so useful for when Bentley has a bit of a stir at night! It also has a sleep timer ⏱ (15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes). There are a couple of different animals to choose from as well! 🐻🦒
Also, not only is it AC so it can connect to the wall socket for a more permanent spot but can be used with batteries as well for those trips away with the family (like for when my man decides it’s time to go camping ⛺️😪🤦🏼♀️😂) All-in-all, this is an amazing product, not to mention it looks so adorable too! 🎉💕 The music is so beautiful and calming whilst the nightlight is light enough to change nappies but can be dimmed for that comforting reassurance at night for bub. I love love love this product and couldn’t recommend it more!
A happy little lullaby filled with love⭐️
“I’ll be a bear on all four limbs// guarding your slumber in a quiet den// counting the cadence of your breath// the rising and falling of your tiny chest// we fill the shadows and pierce the dark like fireflies// we are connected, a constellation I can always find “

What’s better than to end a day with a lullaby about dreams that has been so wonderfully sung. We all work very hard during the day, we deserve the rest and peace of the night. And songs like this are like a cherry on the top. Beautifully sung by @_alovili_sumi_. Welcome to the community. 😊
