I left Morocco this morning and now sitting at Heathrow reflecting on this really rather incredible 5 weeks. Here, is where it all began 5 weeks ago in Oia, Santorini where we commenced a family holiday we shall never forget. From there, we travelled to Milos (my girls fave) 🙌🏻 followed by magnificent Spain 🇪🇸 A teary farewell to my family as they headed home to school and work whilst I carried the baton proudly to Portugal (it’s a tough gig 😉) to commence our culinary tour there. Wow.... and more wow! Here, I was blessed to meet some of the most generous and kind people who welcomed us with open arms. Their smiles, hospitality, stunning wines (ummmm.... hello!) and food were all unforgettable. The fabulous guests who became dear friends that joined us for this adventure, heightened all that we did. I was so lucky (again) to have such wonderful companions. Thank you to you all with a very full heart.
William and I then travelled to Morocco for an inspection tour (next year we are hosting our tour in Morocco in case you missed that news flash) that became a love affair for this country and it’s huge hearted people. When I arrived at the airport this morning, I was offered the most sincere hug from the man who bought me there. He held me close and said ‘thank you so much for visiting my country’. I found myself with very watery eyes and so incredibly grateful for the love and welcome we have felt wherever we have travelled.
I feel the pull of home now. There are three incredible daughters, one almighty husband and a fluffy Ned that I just cannot wait to also hold in my arms... close.... as I thank them too.
Thank you to all who made this possible and the love we felt at every step.
📍Gran Mezquita Hassan II, Casablanca.
