🐛“Grow through what you go through.” 🦋
I’d say my life has been quite the rollercoaster! From living in different homes trying to finish high school, constant listening to divorced parent’s drama, to dealing with an emotionally abusive relationship has been situations where I definitely grew from! Those moments were extremely hard to deal with and that all happened during my teen years. 😞My twenties were a little better but with other insane struggles of figuring out the adult life. My thirties have been a lot clearer but I am now discovering a whole new woman! 🙏🏼
I thank God I literally came out alive during my teenage and young adult years! I never turned to drugs or alcohol but my emotions and mental health SUCKED. I know we all have gone through major things but never let that hold you back or bring you down in your current journey. I always acknowledge the good and the bad. That’s why you see that pose I’m striking because I’m one confident momma and ain’t nothin’ holding me down! 👊🏼💕 #straightouttamycomfortzone
It’s so easy for us to put ourselves down and tell ourselves that we are a failure because we are not where we wanted to be... 🤦🏼♀️ I caught myself doing just that today... My inner mean girl was again telling me that I am not good enough, that I am not moving fast enough, that I am not working enough and that in general I am just that - “not enough” 😧 This is the biggest lie! And in the past my inner mean girl would’ve started a downward spiral right there, I would’ve gone to a state of self pity, self loathing and I would’ve found ways to punish myself for everything that I “have not done” - it’s so silly! But this used to be my reality for 28 years... 🙈⠀
The truth is, I have evolved! I have grown and I have been working on myself A LOT - I have to thank my beautiful mentors for continuing to push me towards growth, as it is sooo easy to get comfortable at the “new level”, yet it would be such a dishonesty to humankind if I was to stop here and not embrace my personal strengths and continue to grow! 🙏⠀
Thanks to the countless hours I have spent on self development I was able to thank my inner mean girl for her input today, but then told her - that “I am enough” and “I am a freakin badass!” - this right here is evolution at its best!! And with the beautiful words of Cara Alwill Leyba “You will evolve. Not everyone will get it. Evolve anyway.” ❤️⠀
So here I am today, raising a glass of homemade kombucha to myself and my continuous battle with my evolution - I am on the winning side 💃🏼

While everywhere is winter, at my place is spring 🍠🥦🥕
Produce tends to looks sad in the winter. 🌽 There’s a lot to be said for eating seasonally which is why I’m advocating that you give cabbage a chance at dinner this week.
Cabbage is packed with vitamins K, C, B6, and manganese and folate. It’s beneficial for reducing inflammation, boosting your immune system and improving digestion.
Throw cabbage in a soup or cook it up as a delicious side (think corned beef and cabbage style), but definitely buy some at the market this week and give it a try. You may just find your favorite new winter meal. 🥬

One thing I struggle with is setting the bar higher. I am so grateful for all of the things I have created in my life
I love my job👩🏽🔬, I am blessed to work with talented amazing scientists and I am working towards a cure for CF
I am also so grateful for all of the women I get to work with and lead on their fitness journey🏋🏾♀️ Because truly, we can’t accomplish great things when our bodies are at 50% of what the are capable of
We can’t stretch if we are barely keeping it together right?? So what’s next for me this year? Well I didn’t finish my goal setting last year
And as I sit here and think about what is next, I find myself playing small, selecting things I know I can do, because the things that would really stretch me— scare me

Oven roasted sweet potato wedges 🍠 😍
Here’s what you have to do to get these lovelies ❤️
2 sweet potatoes (medium size), just wash them very good, don’t peel it because skin has so many nutrients. Cut them into wedges. In a large bowl combine wedges with 1 tbsp of olive oil and lot of spices (salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, curcuma, oregano, garlic). Bake at 200C or 400F for 30 min. •••••••••••••••
You can eat them with hummus or without anything. 😁so tasty
