Did you know that this weekend is your last chance to see the 250th Summer Exhibition at the @royalacademyarts! This year's show is curated by Grayson Perry and it is brilliant. If you love bold colours and statements, this one is for you!
The process of ‘Abstract Dream’ was very interesting for me. I started with one idea in mind, but it changed completely after the first layer. I decided to make some changes in the materials and colours I was using and continued with a different focus, but once again, I was not convinced. The last layer was just a happy experiment because I thought I was going to throw it away. I’m so happy I did it because I really like the final piece.
So... lesson learned: keep working on it. Not only in one piece, but in your whole process, specially if you are looking for your own style or voice. I’ve had some deep conversations about this theme in my latest workshops and this painting is a good reminder of how sometimes we just need to pause, breathe and keep going.
This original was sold, but prints are available in my @Etsy shop 😉
