Do you ever sit back and wonder where you would be if you took another path? If you said no, if you said yes? Do you every ponder about the thought of where you would be if you took that job? If you bought that dress? 👗 Sometimes I look back and think about how different my life could’ve been if I didn’t follow my heart but I made every decision confidently. I said yes with every intention to stick to that yes. I said no because I stuck to my gut and never second guessed my own thoughts and feelings. I am not where I am because of fate, I am not with the love of my life because the wind simply swept me into his pathway. I am where I am because I wanted to be here. I stepped up and did the mahi because I wanted the treats! 😂 Live your life with intention! Do things the way you want to because that’s how YOU want to do it. If in any way others are unhappy because of the decisions you made, take it with a grain of salt because sometimes you need to look in the mirror and see yourself, your happiness and your future. Because when you are living with a positive outlook on life, when you are just overflowing with aroha and joy, your whānau will see that and more importantly feel that love. Lead the way with happiness and passion, your whānau will soon follow if they’re not already walking alongside you in your journey. ✨ Remember those who mind do NOT matter and those who matter don’t mind. "If someone offers you a compliment by mistake, or gives you the benefit of the doubt, or lets you into traffic… my hunch is that you accept. You might not totally deserve it, but hey, they might see something in you that's worthy.
On the other hand, when we're unfairly blamed, harshly judged or cut off, well, that's completely unacceptable. That's enough to ruin a whole day. That's reason for revenge or at the very least, the blowing off of steam.
Does that feel imbalanced?" - Seth Godin
At what point do we feel that we deserve this, and we don't deserve that. Do we air a sense of entitlement when we say why does bad stuff keep happening to us. So it fair to say that we are not totally deserving of all the good things that happen to us too?
When a baby is born rich or poor does it deserve that? •
Having the upper hand is all in your perception. You may feel its unfair to be labelled 'privileged' when you have no say in the matter eg born a white, male, in the west. On the other hand you might feel you have a better deal through an humble upbringing, in a remote village, you empathatise and connect because of your struggles.
But at what point do you say it's deserved? When the things you have match the things you do maybe? When there is enough good karma put out by you, that it bumps into you more frequently?

♡ slow mornings & cow cuddles.....is how I roll just for now!!! Possibly with an emphasis on “roll” .... ♡
Who else could use a bit of this right about now?! (Not the leading bit, the taking part bit 😆 I LOVE leading Yoga Nidra but I might love being Nidra’d - possibly not an actual word but whatevs - even a tiny bit more ☺️💖)
Yoga Nidra is a deeeep guided relaxation / meditation technique which usually takes anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes (oh god YES give me 45 minutes!) and it’s possibly one of the greatest things on the planet.
There are several stages - and whether or not you do all of them depends on time - but universal to all Nidra is the rotation of consciousness around different points of the body. You just follow the guiding voice as it washes over you without concentrating too intently, and what happens is that the process leads you into a very deep Delta brain wave state. Why’s that so special? Well, we only normally go there in deep sleep, but in Yoga Nidra we get to be there whilst conscious. Yup, trippy! And PROFOUNDLY restorative, and invaluable for planting seeds of intention known as ‘sankalpa’ (which I’ll explain all about in my next practice post).
What my science-geek obsession with neuroplasticity also finds really exciting is that in brain scan studies done on people during the rotation of consciousness, the area of the brain related to each body part lights up like a Christmas tree when consciousness is taken there, despite no touch, movement or stimulation taking place! 🧠 Imagine what this can mean for harnessing the power of the brain for healing...
Other stages include visualisation, counting; and imagining pairs of opposite feelings, then inviting them to co-exist... which effectively short-circuits the reasoning part of your brain and opens the subconscious to an ocean of possibilities without judging or evaluating.
Anyway, I could rattle on about this for HOURS, but the best thing you can do is just experience it. So, why not hop on over to my website via the link in my bio, lie down and get really comfy, and listen to one of the free recordings on there. Enjoy! 🙏

“If you talk about it and you think about it, it will manifest” Abraham.
So, lately I have been noticing how much I am plugged in. Yes being plugged in is a vital part of my business, and its how I continue to connect with so many amazing Mama’s... but you know its really been playing on me, that I am always within an arms reach of my phone. So I have been making it intentional every single day to putting my phone either on the dining room table, or my kitchen counter, or keeping it in my purse when I am with friends etc. And also keeping the intention that every night I unplug at the same time and just have some uninterrupted time each day... well The Universe is a joker because yesterday my old phone went through its slow death... And today, with the idea that I would take it into Apple and it would be fixed, to find out it was going to cost me a pretty hefty price tag to fix it.. and therefore upgrading to a new shinier fancier model... But for almost 14 hours I was phoneless, I had no way of anyone to get ahold of me other than using Facebook Messenger.. which I admit I did check into a few times using my iPad. But I wasn’t constantly checking my phone, or seeing the little notifications go off .. it made me realize that truly a lot of my life is attached to the phone (and yes, i know its a HUGE necessaity!) But it truly just solidifies to me, that I am on the right track here, that remembering there is a HUGE WORLD outside of this tiny one I have created virtually, and if I spend too much time looking into this tiny world.. I’m going to miss my big one passing me by.
Living my life with intention and purpose are KEY values for me.. and right now the intention to be present is ever presenting itself to me in so many beautiful ways.
I’m so grateful for another chapter in this lesson of learning the art of being present <3
I encourage each of you to unplug an hour earlier than you go to bed, take that time to reflect, journal, meditate, maybe just chat to your husband with no distractions.. whatever it may be for you. Give yourself a little gift tonight.. and unplug, okay?

Who you think you are is not what you are.⠀
Who you think you are, if you’re like most people, is an American, or some nationalism or some religion. Most people think they are a list of adjectives when in truth, they are conscious beings choosing the adjectives. ⠀
If you’re like some, you may even say, “I’m a spiritual being” having a human experience. ⠀
However, you’re not even that - you’re a cosmic being having a human experience. ⠀
Where do you think you were before you landed on this planet? Were you in some cosmic waiting room somewhere waiting to incarnate? ⠀
Where were you before you got here? ⠀
You are NOT the identity you have created, all the fears, worries, limitations, and convoluted thoughts and ideas, etc.⠀
What you are is an extraordinarily powerful cosmic being! MEANING: Rise into your power, live the life you want and make a difference in the world! ⠀
➡ Rise In Your Cosmic Power- The World Needs You!
Some days I am busy buzzing around, drop offs, pick ups, quick stop at the shop, one client, next client and home life.
No matter how busy I am I always find time to invest in me.
A few quick ways to Invest in yourself.
- go for a walk
- read a book
- have a coffee with a friend
- meditate or sit and reflect
This #throwbackthursday photo is from last year when we were buzzing around Sydney showing family members the sights.
There came a point during out city day trip where we just had to sit down, rest and have a cuppa to reenergise.
How are you investing in you today?

Hard practice, easy breakfast.
Not missing a thing this morning. Both inside and out. 📿🌄 Todays practice was invigorating and just clicked so well for me. I even hopped up into an assisted #pinchamayurasana , feeling rooted through my shoulders. 💪🏽The next best thing I did was refuel with protein that every cell I'm my body can use, not just the muscles. 🥕🥜🥤 I forgot to turn the phone sideways, but at least you can see the AMAZING @yogabill61 doing his thang! I'm by the back wall. Right next to the steamer, as usual.

M a k e time. For yourself first, then for what is important to that self.
Amidst a small season of insecurity & doubt, I took to my mat.
I slowed down, and carved out time for yoga practice.
I ignored all the to-dos of the day screaming my name, I set aside the fact that I was running behind schedule.
20 damn minutes.
I can give myself that. I must give myself that.
I came with messy thoughts, messy hair, no makeup yet. I showed up as I was.
I moved, I breathed.
For 20 minutes.
Then I sat up, I sealed my practice with hands at heart center, opened my eyes and felt at peace.
In that moment I felt my own beauty, and saw it reflecting back at me in the mirror.
Still messy thoughts, messy hair, no makeup yet. I looked beautiful
because I FELT beautiful.
—20 damn minutes
I love community even though I’m an introvert. There really is something magical about connecting with other women and having people on your team. 💕
I love encouraging and empowering other women even though at times the things I tell them to believe in themselves I do not believe about myself. 💕
I’ve always had the need to point out my flaws and struggles to be sure that others know that I am nowhere near perfect so don’t expect it. 💕
I am a work in progress but I KNOW I’m worth the work. I continue to work on myself, and learn, and fail, and grow because I’m worth it. This work is all encompassing of my fitness, nutrition and my mindset: mentally, emotionally & spiritually. 💕

Cozy fall mornings with pup and candles? YES PLEASE. —
I schedule in time in for mindfulness, active gratitude, and journaling every morning before my day starts and let me tell you- it rocks my world!
I also take 10 minutes, 3 times a day (or whenever I need it) to close my eyes, and focus on the things in my life that I love- what and who I’m thankful for. Its an instant mood booster, stress reliever, and gives me so much positive energy that I feel like I’m RADIATING happiness when I’m done! Seriously- if you don’t already do this, give it a try and watch the magic that starts unfolding for you in your life!
Tag someone or list 3 things you love and are so thankful for below in the comments ❤️
Finished my book this morning, did a stretch routine on my rest day, and am fully ready to rock the day!
Getting up early was actually a little easier today! I'm even starting to wake before the alarm which tells me my body really likes this new routine.
What would you do, if you were told you had five years to live?
Well why aren’t you doing it now?
I came across this on the Meaningful Money Podcast by @pete_matthew .
It was part of a bigger financial planning exercise but this is the question that stood out for me.
I think this question was the catalyst for us downsizing from our forever home, and concentrating on building an income through property investing.
Because if I was told I had five years left, I would want my family to be financially secure and then I would want to travel more with my loved ones.
This picture was taken at @elephanthills_thailand last year, and I’m not sure there’s much better than seeing so much joy and amazement on one of my little monkeys faces.
So that’s the plan, more #financialfreedom and more #travel and a massive bonus of living in a tiny house less cleaning! Woohoo 🎉
#SayItLouder & #SELFCARE: Setting #RealisticGoals.
I have been utilising my blog and Instagram as platform for #selfcare and #selflove. Truly a big step to prioritise, addressing and accepting myself. In therapy, we are often given homework like the ‘Grateful Five’ or ‘The Five Minute Journal’ for instance, all with the purpose to be more mindful and live with intention. However, these set homework never seem to work for me - I find myself trying to “make” gratefulness for the sake of completing my homework instead of identifying them. What I have found useful for me is having an overarching project that encompasses the idea of #livingwithintention - there birth “A Fawn’s Home”. This just comes to show how self care is different for everyone. I know that I have been in many ways “slacking” off with this project despite putting pressure on myself with various goals. I have a backlog of post ideas and edited photos/ my Instagram feed is a mess... BUT in this process of “procrastination and anxiety” i have learnt that a lot of self-care is learning to give yourself a break and acknowledging what you have accomplished rather than what you haven’t. Although I’ve been feeling a little defeated trying to set goals and not meeting them because of anxiety- I’ve started to apply steps to staying on top of goals - read about it on my blog, coming soon! // #ModClothSquad@modcloth
Studies show Kava ( 'Awa ) may help reduce anxiety, protect neurons from damage, reduce pain sensations, reduce the risk of cancer (evidence limited to mice), relax muscles and help combat stress.
Although, traditionally consumed as a beverage, Kava can be consumed as a tablet, tincture - or as I’m enjoying, in baking.
Kava Pumpkin Spice Donuts (Gluten Free)
Homemade Ghee (or Coconut Oil for Vegan Variety)
Apple Cider Vinegar
Microfine Kava Powder
Bob’s Gluten Free All Purpose Flour
Topped with Melted Dark Chocolate & Crushed Pistachio
I am what the world would call Type A. I like organization. I thrive in a clean and well put together environment. So it probably comes as no surprise that having children and their associated messes, set me up to become frazzled and stressed pretty quickly. .
In my years as a mother I have found the life changing value of less stuff and less clutter. By purging our home of the stuff we don't use and don't need, we have less clutter. We still have messes but by having a home for everything means the messes are quickly cleaned and our precious time can be spent with our precious people instead of constantly picking up messes. .
This is the goal behind the 31 Day Autumn De-clutter plan. If you are a mom that finds yourself easily stressed by the constant mess, check out the link in my bio to get your own FREE copy of the de-clutter plan. Experience the effect of less stuff!
“I don’t have time to...!!”
Your accumulated time spent on social media over the span of 7 days determines that to be a lie (🤥 😂).
Listen...social media will be here when you get back, but your purpose...not so much.
It’s arrogant to put things off until tomorrow when you can do them today. Refuse to make excuses.
Time is of the essence. Be clear in your priorities, and concise in your actions.
Got goals? Or excuses?
Happy Tuesday! I just love listening to audiobooks while doing household chores. This quote pictured below struck a cord with me! 👇🏼 Made me think: if you don’t choose to be happy NOW and accept the moment as it is, then when will you ever be happy? 🤔
p.s. homemade bone broth is simmering away and the house smells amazing!
Lately I have been really inspired by fall decor. Even in my design work, fall vibes are flowing. But this year we are on the west coast and heading into fall feels a bit different from last year in Atlanta. So, inspired by these Cali vibes, last week my girlfriends and I took a class at @rollinggreens on how to make ‘succulent pumpkins’. The perfect mix of California sunshine and fall classics. And after this class, I knew exactly what our fall decor would look like this year. Head on over to the blog for all details and how to’s! #myhappyplace#thehappyplace
This #TransformationTuesday means even more to me this time around bc my WHY has transformed into something I never expected! 🤗 It has been 2 years since I started my #fitnessjourney & once I started I never looked back. This journey has brought me some of my best friends 👯♀️ has given me more confidence than I could have ever imagined, & has opened up a whole new world to me & has shown me that I can do anything I set my heart to 🙌🏽💗 My WHY is something that has changed throughout this process too & I was reminded of that during my first night of #YTT last night. I just embarked upon the journey to become a certified yoga teacher🧘🏽♀️ & they asked us to write about “why am I here” what came flooding out onto my paper surprised me. I always knew that I wanted to do YTT but I didn’t have a concrete reason as to why—besides wanting to teach. What I wrote down was far more than just teaching... I wrote “I am here to change my life. This is just the beginning of a brand new version of me” This answer surprised me bc I didn’t know how 💯 in I was until that moment. This new journey isn’t about becoming a more advanced yogi or getting into crazy poses or about anything physical at all. It’s all about what’s inside me. I wouldn’t have figured all of this out if it wasn’t for everything that’s lead up to this. Thanks to @toneitup 💞 for giving me the tools to fuel my body properly so that I can do all that I want to do & also feel good doing it & thanks to this #TIUcommunity and #yogicommunity for embracing every part of my journey & riding along with me. Special shoutout to my fellow yogis who are going through YTT with me @amandaalohayoga 🧘🏽♀️& @howeshetonesup 🧘🏼♀️
There is SO MUCH more to fitness than the physical transformation you see here. All the work is done on the inside & that’s what’s radiated on the outside! 🙏🏽 Happy Tuesday friends 💗
How do you ERASE a lie you’ve believed about yourself?
DAILY AFFIRMATION! What is the lie? Write down the reverse of the lie and that’s your truth. Repeat it. Again. Again. Again. •
Example: I don’t have what it takes to..... ➡️ I HAVE unique gifts & talents and I am CAPABLE of doing.... • I don’t have time to take care of myself ➡️ I am WORTH the time it takes to be healthy and exercise • I can’t ... ➡️ I CAN ...
Now say that truth out loud for the next 63 days. This will rewire your brain by moving the emotional belief to the cognitive side. It takes 21 days to build it (long term memory) and 42 days to make it a habit
What are you believing about yourself today that just isn’t true? Shed light on those lies and give life to your truth!
Drinking wine in a hot tub with a killer view, friends, and perfect weather? One of those “too good to be true” things. Buuuuuuut there’s actually no such thing as “too good to be true”. Like who decided that if something is SO good it just can’t happen for you!? Talk about a limiting belief.
BELIEVE that you deserve to experience life to the fullest, get the incredible things you’ve always thought were out of reach, and that nothing is off limits or too good to be true for you- no matter how big or small that thing is. #mindsetshift
This weekend was a blast in Reims... hanging with some fun friends, meeting new people, and cheers’ing over lots of glasses of champagne! I have a new found appreciate for champagne... I love when artisans perfect their craft and choose not to diversify because they want to be the best in what they do... this is something I often struggle with... focus. I love a lot of things... and I think I’m good and a lot of things... but what am I really good at and how to continue to perfect and excel in that area. Knowing who you are is key.
If it takes you more than a minute to say what you’re good at, you may need to ask some friends to be reminded. To encourage yourself and to get deeper to remember who you are.
Looking for ways to add warmth to a room? Hands down, the easiest design trick to employ is the strategic placement of a bookcase filled with books. You get a quick dose of color and personality without breaking the bank. So start reading!! ⠀⠀

It doesn’t HAVE to look like anything other than this🙌🏼
Please share what it is that you will be doing for YOU during the week?
Today I sit

I am not here to prove
I am here to receive.
I have people to serve,
much to create,
a household to harmonize
but I have nothing to prove,
no not anymore.

Saturday was our last soccer game of the season which means all of the socks, cleats, and guards need a place to go. .
As a mom my greatest piece of advice for decreasing stress is to make sure everything has a home. I find there is no easier way to be pushed over the stress ledge than to be trying to find something with kiddos yelling and messes everywhere. .
By putting all of Asher's gear into a clear tote and placing it into his closet I will know where to find it next year. Chances are the cleats and guards will be better suited for Ellery than him next year but at least I will know where to find it. Future Justina will thank me!

In the South Pacific, Buddhist Monks toss dirty potatoes into a huge pot and gently stir them to clean them. ⠀
In most parts of the world, we wash potatoes and then boil, bake or cook them.⠀
So..what’s the lesson here? ⠀
In the South Pacific, the monks let the friction between the potatoes clean them. By rubbing up against each other in the pot the friction cleans each one. ⠀
If you’re wise, friction with others "cleans" you (if you allow it), meaning it helps you grow and evolve as a being. If you’re not wise you let it piss you off for a lifetime. ⠀
When people trigger you it has NOTHING to do with you, it has to do with your judgments of them. When you stop judging and having expectations of others you stop being triggered…and life gets a whole lot easier! ⠀
When you stop being triggered you’re then evolving and growing as a conscious being. ⠀
➡ So…honor each person who triggers you as they are your best teacher. 🤯

I started this little account 1 year ago last week! To be honest, I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing and what I want to share. But I’ve just felt this need share something, so here I am!
Thanks to those who have stuck around while I figure it out :)

Have you noticed that you almost never do what scares you and you almost never leave your comfort zones? ⠀
Why is this? ⠀
Easy: FEAR. ⠀
And, it’s not just one kind of fear, it’s two kinds - conscious and unconscious. Not only that, there is a brain based component, too. ⠀
When I say brain based what I mean is that your “reptilian brain,” the fight or flight survival part of your brain gets engaged and throws you into fear with anything it perceives to be a threat to you. ⠀
For now I’ll keep this simple - if you allow your fears to stop you, you’ll never push though your fears and if you never push through your fears you’ll always be trapped by your fears. ⠀
The irony is one of the things you want most is to not have the fear but you’ll have the fear until you push through the fear, crazy, right?! ⠀
➡ So, what is one small fear you can push through today?

If you’ve ever said something along these lines, “I made $100,000 last year so I can make $120,000 this year” you’re working from your past. ⠀
If you’re evaluating anything in your life happening now from what happened in the past you’re being controlled by your past. ⠀
The past does not exist. All that exists is right NOW. Anything that has ever happened will happen or is happening in your life is happening NOW. ⠀
Because NOW is all that exists, how then does it serve you to work from the past (which doesn’t exist)? 🤯 ⠀
➡ Are you working from what’s possible now or what was possible from your past? ⠀

Are you like most people, do you rush through life? ⠀
Are you always trying to get a million things done? ⠀
Are you racing through life trying to make sure you do everything so you don’t miss anything? ⠀
If so, you’re out of balance. There is a natural order to all things. ⠀
Look at nature, it’s never rushed. Nature is patient⠀
The old phrase, something along the lines of “Good things come to those who hustle” may be partly true, but it’s also true that great things come to those who have patience. We live in an impatient world and MANY times when people don’t get what they want fast enough - they quit. ⠀
There is nowhere to rush to in life.⠀
Be patient, set your intentions and let life unfold in perfect order. ⠀
➡ Are you an impatient person? What reward do you think you get from being impatient? What after you missing by not being patient? ⠀

Have you ever been sad? Angry? ⠀
No, you haven't. ⠀
You've been the thinking of those thoughts. They were thoughts you were entertaining at the moment. ⠀
You are not angry right now because that's not where your attention is. You're the same physical body you were two months ago, but now you're thinking different things. ⠀
"I am the thinker of my thoughts"⠀
When you say this, you disassociate from your thoughts. You can't be worried. You are a person thinking worried thoughts. ⠀
Next time you find yourself stuck on repeat with worried thoughts, stop for a second, and tell yourself "I am not my thoughts. I am the thinker of my thoughts."⠀
and see what happens...⠀
