Romania’s National Day, December 1, marks the country’s unification in 1918 and the formation of the Romanian state within its present-day boundaries, bringing back together Transylvania, Bessarabia, and Bukovina with the Romanian Kingdom. Happy Birthday, Romania! 💙💛❤️
The odd statue in front of the National Theatre of Bucharest is called the ‘Caruta cu paiate’, a tribute to Romania's best loved playwright, Ion Luca Caragiale. It features characters from Caragiale's plays, and was unveiled in December 2010.
