Boundaries are an important aspect of a healthy relationship. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Examples of healthy boundaries: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Asking for “me” time⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. asking for “space” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Setting aside time with friends and family without them being there⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Saying “no” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If these boundaries provoke your partner to anger, leave you feeling guilty or require you to over-explain and defend your reasons, you may be in an emotionally abusive relationship. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Though this may be from a perspective of romantic relationships, the same principle applies for business, ministry and other relationships. Boundaries need to be set up and enforced when necessary. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I think to just be happy and healthy…
Simple in theory, but not in practice, right?😑
Life gets in the way, and being healthy and happy comes in different forms for everyone.
But at the very core, there’s being healthy by practicing healthy habits - and nutrition and exercise is where it begins.🍎🥑🏋️♀️🏃♀️
That leads you to feeling your best and making better choices for your whole family...and to be grateful instead of ashamed.🥰
It’s hard to make good choices and feel grateful when you’re not feeling well - whether that be physically or mentally - and when you are constantly beating yourself up over what you did or didn’t do, especially when you have kids. Guilt constantly nags at us and kills our ability to progress.🙁
This is very apparent in my own life, because whenever I get sick or I’m not feeling well, I start to fall back on my unhealthy habits, and then I start to fall into depression, anxiety, and shame.🥺
Like the past few weeks, I haven’t been well.😷
I stopped working out because I was scared and wanted to help my body focus on healing rather than build muscle.💆♀️
That’s fine, but I walk a fine line here because exercise is my medicine for depression and anxiety. And if I go too long without it, I get lethargic and sad and make unhealthy food choices which makes me feel even worse (physically). It starts to spiral and pretty soon I’m feeling guilty for these choices, which fuels my depression and anxiety. They feed off of each other.
But so do healthy habits and a positive, energetic, happy mindset.
Do good for your body and it does good for you.
So how do you get out of the cycle of unhealthy habits, depression, anxiety, and shame?

I often find myself falling into daily routines that I repeat over and over again. It becomes so dull and makes me dread getting out of bed each morning. Last month, I found myself breaking this daily routine and taking a 5 day trip to Arizona. It was the escape I needed and I plan to have many more in the future. Eat things that serve your body + soul. Eat things that serve as a vessel for happiness and sharing your life with others. Strive to the stigma that you have to “work” to deserve food.
It’s essential, as well as joyful part of life; don’t overcomplicate it for yourself or anyone else. I spent way too much time over analyzing what I was eating so much that it kind of became a mundane “task”. I never thought I’d be able to view food as something I could genuinely enjoy without feeling like I was ruining my progress. I know everyone’s relationship with food is different, but for me, it’s been crucial to prioritize experience over “healthier choices” on occasion, even with my goals in mind.
The more I fought the bologna that society warped my mind into believing about food, and challenging those thoughts with actions, the more reality sunk in and those thoughts dissipated. Deprivation and isolation because of food will do hella more damage than a slice of pizza or a cookie 🍪 on occasion ever will for you and the people you share your life with.
