May not be very pretty but this has been a go-to meal for me recently. Quick, simple, and healthy. All I did was pre cook 1.5 lb of 96% lean beef to last me a few days and the rest was all quick microwaveable add ins.
4 oz 96% lean beef
A cup of steamable veggies
A cup of brown/wild rice (microwaveable)
Seasoned with chili powder, cumin, onion powder, salt and pepper! 😋
The cool thing about being a super small farm and raising our own animals - completely on our own - is the fact that we know exactly which animal we are feeding our family (and yours!). This is Beth. We intended to keep her as a breeder, but horrible circumstances changed our herd structure and she was sacrificed for a fresh start (More on that later). We have unfortunately noticed there are many “meat brokers” out there, purchasing animals and selling them as their own. We were approached not too long ago and asked if we could sell another farmer a bunch of birds we raised and drop them off at slaughter.. and allow them to put their label on it. We declined. This is not how we work. Everything on our farm has come from our blood, sweat, and buckets of tears. We guarantee that. The deception is real people. Even in small towns. I encourage you to visit the farms you are purchasing your body’s fuel from! Get to know your farmer. Ask about their animals. Learn about the processes they use and where they obtain their stock. Farmers - I am not knocking you. We can’t all produce everything and feed everyone. It’s important to work together because let’s face it - we are only a smidgen of the population working to feed the best quality food we can provide! If you don’t have something: be transparent with your customers and if you have to source products from elsewhere, tell them. Give the credit where it is due, and give the courtesy of honesty to your customer. Not to mention, do you really want to take that liability? #thinkoutsidethebox#farmershelpingfarmers#foodforthought#beefforthought#highlandbeef#scottishhighland#ctfoodies#farmfreshct#farmfreshri#grassfed#beef#tbone#ribeyesteak#leanbeef#behonest#transparentfarming
