Find your zen
I’m not going to lie to you. Most days, I find my heart racing, feel short of breath, and scared to share my struggles. EVERYONE on Instagram is always posting their highlight reel, but some days (heck! Some weeks...), my highlight reel is crippling anxiety and depression. So this post is for those ladies. Those who are struggling, have struggled, and are wanting a better life. Today, was a tough day. I found myself fatigued after a full night of sleep, woke up from a nap with a racing heart and butterflies in my stomach. So what did I do? Did I let those feelings control me?! ABSOLUTELY NOT! A year ago, these feelings would have controlled me, but now, I take a mental note of what I’m feeling, and I separate myself from what I’m feeling because this too shall pass. And it did. I did some meditation, a ten minute yoga routine to destress, and I’m ready to take on my evening!
If you are someone who struggles with anxiety or depression or have in the past, reach out! I would love to collaborate on what works for us, what causes it, etc etc.
P.S. Look at my chatarunga!!! I could NOT do this a few months ago and hold it for a picture, but today I did!!
A vignette story. This is my favorite room at the Cottage, it’s the master bedroom and it was the first room finished except for a few small details, one of which happened to be that “one piece” to hang over the bed. In the end, I found it. It’s a mirror made from African porcupine quills. A man in Georgia hand makes them, and it’s so worth the wait. Over the next month (or less) I’ll share the entire room on the blog, I call it French Lodge with a touch of the exotic and thanks to my dear friends at Bernhardt, Thibaut, Currey & Co. & Legrand who supplied all the product for this space. The Master also has a few personal touches, the books that my mother used as risers, a small dish that I found in New Zealand, and porcupine quills given to me by a friend who brought them back from Africa. I can’t wait to share the rest of this space and all the details with you very soon!
It’s cold in Texas this am + it’s making me think of our trip to Lake Tahoe last year and wanting to be back! ❄️
We’ve gone back + forth on doing a quick couples ‘cold resort’ get away this year yet...from Vail to Jackson Hole. Lake Tahoe was one of our favs ever last year...what are your picks?

There’s something so special about those summer vacations with family! Highest priority is having fun and keeping everyone fed!
Everything else is optional.
So lucky to have these good memories with my kids, my siblings, their kids and my parents! 💙
Are you planning anything for summer yet? ☀️🚣♀️🏸
New Year's Resolution: start each paddle session with one knee up #LikeACaptain. 🦜It doesn't get much better than this!🏔

Hang tight while I find my LIFE!
Have you ever had a day 1? That day where you have to learn something new? Maybe you had to start a new job, new school, do something you have never done. Or, maybe like me, you are starting a new workout program.
One thing this whole coaching, fitness thing has taught me is that my life won’t get better by chance. It only gets better through change.
It’s a terrible thing in life to wait until you are “ready” I don’t think anyone is ever ready for anything. There really is no such thing as ready.
Change can be scary, hard, frustrating. But, don’t allow fear to keep you from growing, changing, and progressing.
If you need change.... and I don’t care if you are ready or not.... slide into my DMs and we will get there together 🙌🏻
2018 Washoe County median sales prices... I love seeing the rise in Reno with a few areas catching up to the Lake.
Thanks @sunshine__sara for the post! 😉
This week on the blog I’ll be sharing our plans for 2019, and what happened at Sweet Pond Cottage in 2018. This year it’s all about new beginnings...and I can’t wait to pick up where I left off. Including this guest room, which is going to get a fresh coat of paint, and if I get my way, some Nantucket Beadboard on the walls. My mothers things have made their way from New York to the Cottage including this marble top chest that I grew up with. Somehow it feels as if it always belonged here, a place that is filling up with memories, both old & new.
