Summer is rolling into Las Vegas and maintaining your dogs grooming routine this time of year is essential. It’s not all about looking good, though that’s certainly one motivator, it’s also important to their health, comfort and cleanliness.
All dogs benefit from a thorough brushing this time of year as it helps strip away loose hairs that can hold in heat. A trip to the groomers also allows for the condition of their skin, ears, paws and nails to be closely monitored. This time of year we spend more time outdoors. The Vegas heat can really take a toll on our pets. Skin problems can develop more easily from sunburns to lice, ear infections can pop up if your dog likes to swim, paws can become sore if exposed to hot surfaces and nail problems can arise from all the extra walking and playing outside if not properly maintained. Not to mention, with all the outdoor playing, swimming, hiking and camping, your little one is bound to get dirty 😀!
Of course we want our pets looking their best, but more importantly we want them feeling their best.
Be sure to schedule your Summer groom soon to ensure your pet is properly groomed per their coat type as this will help them optimally regulate their body temperature.

Mondays are our day off at the shop and today was our first day off together with the kids since summer break started last week. We have been plugging away at the shop nonstop for months, since we opened and in preparation before we opened, so it was really nice to take a day together to relax, have fun, and enjoy some time together. ❤️ We took a little #daycation to Traverse City, walked the downtown shops, picnicked by the bay, took a lovely scenic drive up Old Mission Peninsula, toured the Mission Point Lighthouse, played on the beach, and stopped one more time for a picnic dinner on the beach before heading home. It was fun and refreshing and I hope for many more days like this all summer long. 🥰

Absolutely coincidence that we have seen this spot. Actually, we were on the way to Rakotzbrücke. But by stopping at a rest stop, time passed faster than expected. The lake is on the way, but we just drove past the lake at the golden hour. And well there you can not just drive past, for once we have caught a really beautiful sunset.
Guys, at what time of day do you prefer to take your pictures?

Little by little one travels far 🥰💕 the sight of this just filled my heart with joy earlier today... You will have to forgive me if I’m absent from social media this summer... I’m so looking forward to enjoying this time, especially as it’s Wynne’s first proper summer of lake life with our lake life collection of friends that are as good as family! I will be checking in from time to time but until then... Have a safe break lovelies and to all those that will be joining us here as guests in this special place over the next couple of months to visit... I’m so looking forward to seeing you! 🥰 #happyplace#loveit#bliss#lakelife#blessed#happiness#hellosummer#signingoff#lakespofford#myhouse#safeplace#restful#blissed
You only get 18 summers with your kids. I’ll never forget the first time I heard that and how sad it made me feel.
Even on the days they drive me crazy and I don’t think I can take one more minute of it, I know it won’t be like this forever.
They won’t want to chalk on the driveway or blow bubbles while running through the grass.
They’ll trade floaties and rafts for sunbathing with their friends.
Instead of waking me up early they’ll be staying out late and sleeping in, only to run out of the house again.
I’ve been stressed with the fighting and arguing and my anxiety sky rockets taking them anywhere in public. But come August I’ll have a kindergartner and second grader and each day that passes means they’re one day older than the last.
It’s not easy, this mom thing. These little humans test every ounce of our patience until we think we’re going to break. We love them so hard it hurts and we’re constantly feeling the guilt of not being present enough or there for them as much as we should have been.
It’s okay to get frustrated. It’s okay to be upset. It’s okay to reach your breaking point. You are HUMAN!
Each day your kids wake up and look forward to that day’s adventure. Take a deep breath and do your best... we’re all just doing our best, friends 🖤
