Smiles all round as we drove over the crest of the hill to see our first glimpse of Picos de Europa. A long day of driving made the reward even better: an entire range of glorious, unvisited peaks intersected by dark, cavernous valleys. Both #35mm, 2nd photo by @juliusthieroff
Had such a great day directing little project with an amazing crew of talented people shooting on 16mm Kodak film (also because of that fighting with DoP instincts) - finishing with a cheeky wrap-pint and long London walks.

Jean-Pierre Beauviala with a prototype of what became the A-Minima. Photo taken from @the_asc article honoring him with an award. It looks like a 100' day light spool and a tiny C-mount lens. He also isn't holding his eye to a viewfinder which may have been some sort of "distant eye" ground glass bult in? A crystal, silent, S16 camera like this would be amazing.

The Bolex, the beautiful Bolex. It is one of my favorite cameras ever built--perhaps the Apple of 16mm cameras? No batteries, utterly simple and sleek--maybe not quite "Apple," as it is nearly indestructible and completely timeless.
