Possible to balance risk and fear?
Abraham Maslow’s answer: Life is an ongoing process of choosing between safety (out of fear and need for defense) and risk (for the sake of progress and growth).
Which is better: safety or risk? Life is about learning and growing. If you opt for safety all the time, you can’t reach your full potential because progress requires risk. Yet, there are many things to keep you in your safety zone these days. Threats of violence, financial ups and downs, health risks and more are on our radar nearly every day. How do you know when to “go for it” and when not to?
You can make progress by examining your worries. Of course, you don’t want to push yourself to take unreasonable risks. But you also don’t want anxiety to rule your life. Here’s a way to “name and tame” your fear. When facing something scary, picture it in great detail. Think about the possible outcomes from the worst to the best. How likely are the worst possible outcomes? How could you handle these outcomes if they did happen? Finally, list all the reasons for giving it a try. How might you grow? How could you benefit? What other gains could come from it? As you work on separating reality from fantasy, you’re likely to move toward choosing growth over fear.

This was the symbol for Jim Crow Act. The Jim Crow Act was created to segregate black people from whites. Couple more books under my belt. #foodtherapist#amyschumer both insightful. Food Therapist assist in understanding how the body works and made me understand 'why' to alot of my personal questions. Amy's book isn't the norm of what I pick up, but she makes me laugh and I was interested in her as a person. I appreciated how raw she was. Moments were relatable as a person and as a female. I never finish a book that can't keep my attention (waisted time), but I completed these two. I've started a book called, 'Leadership and Training for the Fight' by MSG Paul R. This book was recommended to me by my Mom a couple of years ago. She said after reading it she learned a few new things about men and our way of reasoning. Of course, I took the suggestion I'll read just about anything I can get my hands on. After doing so I also learned a couple of new things about my fellow brethren and self. What I enjoyed the most is how the author was able to explain the simplest things that us guys do that seems to get misunderstood often by our lovely women. This book is for both sexes it's clear, concise, and straight to the point just under a hundred pages to be exact its a can't miss, I would say 7.5 out of 10. #greatread#knowledgeispower#insight

THEIR PLEAS FOR MERCY ARE IGNORED. Billions of animals suffer for meat, milk and eggs. They are cruelly confined, mutilated, burned, condemned to a life of degradation, #loneliness, #pain, and #terror of slaughter. Most spend their lives unable to turn around or spread their wings. Most never see the #sun. Most will never leave their cages except to die.
ALL PLEAD FOR LIFE AND FREEDOM IN LANGUAGE THAT REQUIRES NO TRANSLATION. They bang their heads against their cages, they bite the metal bars till their mouths bleed, they hurt themselves trying to find a way out, they moan their pain and despair, they go insane. Animals awaiting slaughter cry out loud, pant frantically, shake uncontrollably, lose control of their bowels, collapse into their own vomit, try to scale walls in their desperate attempt to escape. Some try to protect their young with their own bodies.
Chickens can count. Pigs are smarter than poodles. Cows form close relationships. Turkeys know one another by their voices, and sheep recognize faces - of other sheep, and of people. These animals that's some call "food" are far from lacking thoughts and feelings. They demonstrate sophisticated problem-solving abilities, possess rich social lives, and feel a wide variety of emotions. .
In other words, they're much like humans in countless ways. And, like us, they suffer physical pain and mental anguish.
The only difference between "farmed" animals and your family #pets ( #dogs, #cats ect.)is your perception. Will you be one less person harming the animals? Human beings do not need to consume animals in order to survive, actually it's quite the opposite you can thrive on a plant-based diet! So why would you participate in this system of oppression, violence, pain, suffering, and death?

Grub. Fuel. Yeah I use the term fuel because our cells need energy for our bodies to function appropriately 👌🏻 not just any type of food - but food that will provide you the most bang for your buck. I’m talking vitamin packed, nutrient dense foods that our bodies will UTILIZE and not just try to process.
Try eating balance meals for the next 3 days: mostly veggies, protein, healthy fats and some solid complex carbohydrate sources to support your activity and let me know how you feel!
