Dharamshala is a city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this hillside city is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. The Thekchen Chöling Temple Complex is a spiritual center for Tibetan Buddhism, while the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives houses thousands of precious manuscripts.
Since childhood whenever I used to travel from Rampur, the first words my mother would say were, BETA HATH JOD🙏🏻 And now after so many years this has become a habit of mine that whenever I go past this temple, I fold my hand and seek blessings from the Bajrangbali himself. .
P. S. This temple marks the beginning of my beautiful hometown i.e Rampur Bushahr
P.P.S We pahadi's have a tendency to fold our hands whenever we see a temple while travelling. Do you agree? #instahimachal

Sometimes, we feel this desire to challenge faith, to challenge rituals, customs, which bring a community together.
We want to attack it with all our modern thoughts, our thoughts of logic and sense, and want to question their methods, and the methods which we don't find aligning with our ideology, and we want to tell them that what they're doing might be wrong, might be illogical from where we see.
But you know what, these are the times when we are wrong.
We are wrong for trying to change a peaceful coexistence of a community, no matter how it's living, and sometimes this uniqueness which attracts us, is what we want to destroy and make them like us. And instead of accepting the beauty of it, we want to question the logic of it.
But sometimes there's no logic, but a pure acceptance, and that's the basis of faith, the acceptance of it all, the whole quality of surrendering to a higher force.
And sometimes it's a lesson for us too, to accept things instead of thinking that our ideas of a society is superior to theirs.
So, when you come across these thoughts within you, question yourself first, question these thoughts first, if they'll actually bring a change out there, or if it's your need to satisfy an ego, which calls for everything around you to be aligned with your ideology of right and wrong.
And then, just have faith in the whole act of having faith, for not always the answers will be provided when you ask for them.

The Bride. Spiti valley, Himachal Pradesh.
I had the opportunity to explore remote villages and lifestyles of Spiti Valley. I stayed in 6 different villages and met some amazing people.
This one in particular stands out to me. Our team was living with a small family in Pin valley and I asked Takpa, my guide, if I could photograph someone in their tradional wedding wear. Takpa promptly asked the homeowner's daughter who was a newly wed, if she'wd like to participate. Suddenly her eyes lit up, the idea of getting to wear her bridal wear once again visibly filled her up with excitement as she ran into her room.
I really didnt know what to expect, but as she walked in dressed up, I couldn't help but admire the outfit, so unique and delicate. Her grandmother, who accompanied her, had a expression of pure bliss as she watched from a distance. :) • #NorthernEscape
Would you be able to guess this location if we wouldn't had specified it?😛

Kinnaur - Sangla Holi
Raldang, across the Sutlej River, is a towering peak in Kalpa of Himachal Pradesh. Situated to the west of Khanej Pass, Raldang stands at an altitude of 5,499 m above mean sea level. The best time to climb this peak is from July to September.

The Great Kinnaur Kailash Mountains have witnessed whole lot of history of reality which is beyond growth, beyond struggle and death of our human civilization. Over the centuries Himalayan mountains have seen evolution of people and societies who once inhabited places like Kalpa - High up into the mountains. These enormous mountains strengthen absolute faith in the midst of eternal change and unity in the testing times of survivals.
