“Don’t try to present your art by making other people read or hear or see or touch it; make them feel it. Wear your art like your heart on your sleeve and keep it alive by making people feel a little better. Feel a little lighter. Create art in order for yourself to become yourself
and let your very existence be your song, your poem, your story.
Let your very identity be your book.
Let the way people say your name sound like the sweetest melody.” ― Charlotte Eriksson
The Paradoxical Commandments
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

Does 'stories about books' too considered as #stylingwithbooks for #mydesiswag@preethiprabhu, @rittika_ariyonainterior and @houseof9design ? 😀😉
Nevertheless... I have been wanting to tell the story of this 'long stand with a story'!! When my son was bed ridden for sometime, a gentleman who plays tennis with my husband sent this 4 page letter for him. The letter unfolds the story of a little boy who was also bed ridden and how he enjoyed the world outside through the tiny window besides his bed. He also mentions about how books slowly started to be his companion during all those days when he was confined to bed and how those readings helped him to overcome the difficulties in life. Later he discloses the boy as himself ( Today he along with his wife runs one of the popular architecture firm in India 😊)!! .
Along with this letter he had sent a carton beautifully covered in brown paper tied up with a golden ribbon which had full of books for my son. Than our son, we parents were overwhelmed at this gesture!! The letter turned so dear to us for its message and love, we carried it all the way along with us here when we shifted from India. The books too will travel with us soon!! 🤗🤗
Nothing could have set a better background for our reading corner. 💕
That (so called) basket carrying books on the floor is the shade of a non functional lamp. #stylingwithbooks you see!! 😁😎Though the lamp got discarded I kept this shade. I knew I am going to use it somehow. It was holding a plant inside that initially.. later I changed my mind to use it for my little ones toys. And again changed my mind to use it for stacking all the books which are currently read. It neatly holds all the books with that small partitions inside ❤
So here's my lampshade turned book shelf for decor in storage @rainbowbunting@krittikasrikanth@theketlihome@ahousebythebay 😊😊
Life is about the ride! Even if you reach a dark place, reflect, learn, and enjoy your blessings that come out of that. Most people would complain, but last night while I was out it started pouring rain.. I loved every single minute of riding in it 🤙🏽
I've been struggling to find the balance between getting involved into the injustice and protecting my family from the news that are beyond comprehension. Sometimes I can't read the news as it feels too heavy of a load to carry, and than I feel guilty for those thoughts of turning my back to it all as the world needs us to be aware more than ever before.
Art helps me personally to heal or at least to process.
Today my children and I sat outside in the sun and painted together. I painted a mother holding her child. Immense gratitude overwhelms me knowing how blessed I am to have my children in this moment with me.
May we as a nation lead by example, build strong patterns of love, kindness, respect, caring for one another and sensing awareness for those in need. No matter how small our steps are, as long as we take them, they can be mighty.
My heart is with those who are finding themselves in traumatic situations, are feeling helpless, have been displaced, and do not feel safe.
These turbulent feelings though, can not be translated with hate or anger, but must be turned into a useful way by planting healthy and wholesome seeds of love. "Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." -Martin Luther King
NEW VIDEO >> GO WATCH LINK IN BIO >> If we don’t chose to be humble, life will find a way to humble us. Letting go of ego voluntarily is better than being forced to let it go. The second option is more painful. From my interview with @lewishowes
At HUFT we believe that it doesn't! What's considered as "desirable traits" of a particular breed, causes immense pain and trauma to a dog.
🐶Tail Docking or "bobbing" is the surgical removal of a part of dog's tail when it's still a puppy and it's done without the use of anaesthesia. Many believed that it prevented injuries to the working/hunting dogs as they ran in areas of thick vegetation while chasing or herding.
🐶Ear Cropping is the surgical removal of a dog's ear to make them "perkier", this was done to heighten their senses of sound. Once the ears are clipped they are bound by a hard surface like cardboard for days to give them a desirable shape.
🔸Not only do these practices leave the dog with many health and behavioural complications but it's also super painful for them!
Let's spread the word to stop this unnecessary evil!"
