#Takeback to 8 week ago and the night after a successful weigh in for the 2018 NI Judo Open.
I sure was happy to get some water and food in me after the cut!
..But more interestingly, the 2nd image is of my weight gain since the competition:
In 8 weeks: 2.4Kg increase in muscle mass
In 8 weeks: 3.8Kg increase in fat mass
In 5 weeks: 1.4Kg increase in muscle mass
In 5 weeks: 2.1Kg increase in fat mass
In 2 weeks: 1.1Kg increase in muscle mass
In 2 weeks: 0.2Kg increase in fast mass
As expected, you can see from the graph (above) my fat mass increased very rapidly.
After a big reduction in calories for a few weeks and putting my body into starvation mode, my bodies response was to keep hold of fat.
In recent weeks you can see my fat mass gain has slowed down as my body has realised isn’t going to starve anytime soon.
For 8 Weeks I’ve been doing 7 days a week morning cyclic cardio sessions with the off CF specific strength sessions in the mix.. and there has been a consistent increase in muscle mass (see graph above).
A very quick loss in weight is likely to result in a sudden increase in fat storage when you return back to normal healthy eating.

It was a pleasure working with @joetayla, @s.h.jones91 and @charlotte.gomersall again, it’s been a top weekend 👌
We stayed consistent all weekend and put in a solid performance all round ending up in 6th overall (out of 120) after a weekend of bouncing around the top 6.
After a fun 6 months in Judo and a couple of weeks of Crossfit training, it was really good to get back on the dance floor!
Looking forward to the next few months of training!
