My man and I do date night every Wednesday. Its our way of making sure we spend at least one day a week to ourselves. I have a crazier work schedule than him, therefore if there is ever a conflict we commit to another day.
When we moved to Los Angeles this admittedly got harder with traffic. In Sacramento (lived there for 2 years) you could hop downtown/midtown easily enough and have options for what to do.
Luckily, my man likes sports. Luckily @bwwings is up the street. And luckily, they are keto #AF Last night was about watching basketball, pondering the movie Summer Catch that was oddly on half the tvs and eating WANGS. I've said it before, get them extra crispy. It makes them comes out almost as if they were flour dredged.
PS. Date nights don't have to be expensive or always going out. We have date night at home too. Sometimes we pick a recipe from a cookbook and commit to making that. Last week I taught him how to play dominoes. If you want to implement this into your relationship don't get worried it will cost you; it's just about doing things together that are out of the routine of yout day to day ❤
Glamour food shot??? Nope!!! Sorry. I need to up my #foodporn game to make it more glamorous BUT I was about to inhale the food & plate 🤣🤣🤣. I had just finished a late workout and needed to fuel up!!! This is hamburger steak with mushrooms. I left out the binding( suggested 1/2cup of bread crumbs) and they still hel together. Along with he gravy I changed the flour to xanthan gum. Next time I will cut down on the gum a bit, a little too gelatinous. All in all a pretty flavourful dish and will do it again.

Swordfish with compound butter, delicata squash and haricots very almandine. Keto diet delight.... compound butter! Soften butter, add lemon zest, salt,pepper and parsley and put on fish or anything— it is delicious! Making butter even tastier and more nutritious by using grass-fed. My favorite is Kerrygold Irish butter. Try it and see for yourself.

This helped me when I first started! There are so many do's but mainly so many dont's on keto, my advice is keep it simple, simple fresh ingredients and do your research! I researched keto for a month before starting so I had a good idea of what I needed to do, once you're over keto flu you feel so much better and you will see results! Don't give up because the scale doesn't move one week, this won't happen overnight it's all about persistence! If I can do it then anyone can!
Steak with green beans & broccoli and cheese, so easy to make! Before I started keto i was a mess. I'd eat so much, probably get McDonald's daily as it was close to my work, then go home and maybe get a takeaway and then binge on chocolate at night. I really did feel so crap about myself, and my confidence lowered so much but I couldn't stop eating! One day i had had enough, enough of gaining more and more weight, enough of making excuses for myself and finally made a change. Yes I have bad days, sometimes I will maybe eat a bit too much dark chocolate but hey, at least I'm not eating nowhere near as much as I used to! Cleaner ingredients, cleaner meals, it's the way to go!
For dinner last night we had chicken wraps. They’re Joseph’s Lavash bread, cut in half and then filled with chicken, sautéed onions & peppers, cheddar and mozzarella, then rolled up, fried in butter till crispy and then dipped in sour cream and guacamole. We love these and make them often 😋🌯
When rolling, there’s usually excess wrap that I cut off and save in a ziplock to make low carb chips with. Frugal af.
One of my favorite meals here! Seasoned chicken breast...pan-seared on all sides in coconut oil, then baked @3:50 for 45 min. ⠀
I often sear it the day prior and put it in a baking dish in the fridge, so I can just put it in the oven when I’m ready. I always roast a veggie in butter at the same time. (Brussel sprouts in this case) ⠀
Serve with a decadently topped salad. ⠀
Understanding the plan:⠀

•Focused on healthy fats (coconut oil, butter, goat cheese, sunflower seeds)⠀

Remove the goat cheese, and sunflower seeds. Use olive oil vinaigrette on the salad & you have what we call a “deep S,” focused on just the healthy foundation fats. ⠀
• Omitting other allowed fats —like cheese, nuts, peanut butter, cream cheese—that can be overdone, is another way to keep your body guessing. ⠀

This is a winner! My take on spaghetti bolognase!
1 pack of mince meat
3 cloves garlic, minced
Around 12 mushrooms
2 cup diced spinach
1 red pepper
1 cup kale
2 tins chopped tomatoes
Basil to season
Cook the meat in garlic and onion, also cook the mushrooms separate.
Once cooked add tomatoes, allow to simmer for a few minutes.
Once cooked through, add the mushrooms, peppers, spinach, kale and broccoli and cook on low for around 5 minutes

Serve with anything you like! I just have this on its own as it is really filling!
