PARENTING WIN | As a parent of a tweenager and a threeager there are often more days than not that I feel like I'm just getting by with the whole "be responsible, be the bigger person" parenting gig. Man it's fkn hard. Yes it's rewarding, that's for sure, but the days in between can be challenging af.
Well, today has surely lifted my spirits. I feel I have earned this badge, hard, today. I feel like a responsible adult and parent 😳😂😍
You may not know, but I've started my own biz, and last year was really about feeling my way to 'this is what I'd like to do' with Editrix NZ.
Sometimes we seek things far and wide, and over time realise that what we were looking for was right in front of us (cliche I know, but it's not til you experience it, that you truly appreciate it).
My love for designing and creating resources is strong. My deep personal need to create connections with my eldest around puberty (the launchpad for being a trusted advisor to her in the future around more complex topics) is deep.
Put these 2 together ... And 'The Magic of Me' talk cards is born.
I've spent the last 2 months shaping it, and tonight I tested half of it on Mads (a willing participant 🤓) who is 10.
And it was an awesome and enjoyable moment for me and her (I checked 😂👍🏻).
I truly believe in this product, and over the coming weeks I'll be coming back to y'all to see if you and your tween (9+) are keen to be product testers for me.
Got my feet up now, pretty chuffed with being a good parent tonight 💕 creating new legacies here 😍
Messed up my shoulder today trying to get some new footage so in the mean time found a throw back
Obrigado @gtbicycles !
Foram 5 anos fantásticos, cheios de momentos que não esquecerei!
Agora é altura de SALTAR para novos desafios, com novas cores! Fiquem atentos aos próximos dias! 😎
Thank you #Gtbicycles!
It has been 5 great years, with memories i will never forget!
But...now it’s time to JUMP for new challenges with new colors!
Stay tuned for the next days!😎
Sad fact: I'm leaning against the door cos my arm was shaking too much to hold my phone properly.. 🙈🙈🙈
Lately, I've been getting a little bored at the gym, so decided to try out some bodyweight & dumbbell combinations at home, though funnily enough ended up getting more of workout in than when using the machines at the gym~!
On another note, does anybody else get headaches with "jumpy" exercises, like burpees, or is that just me? 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Hey guys. I’ve had huge amounts of messages the past few days, asking where I have been the past 8 weeks, and that it’s good to see me back online. Well Many of us don’t actually realise how quickly you can get sucked into the whole social media craze. You have two sides to it, the good and the bad. I came to experience some off the negative vibes and how social media was becoming my life and primary focus. We are becoming a generation where we think, “unless we post to our walls and stories”, we aren’t living our “best life’s”. That’s not the case. The break I had left me feeling so mentally refreshed, and now I look at the aspects of social media with a new perspective. You control it, it doesn’t control you. Keep it fun. But anyway, here I am, my first post of 2019, stuck in traffic 😜. #positivevibes#mentalhealthawareness#keepitfun
Jump fast. Jump high.
A plyometric exercise comprises of three phases:
Eccentric phase, or landing phase, involves the pre-loading (energy is stored) of the agonist muscle group
Amortization phase, or transition phase, is the time between the concentric and eccentric phases. This time needs to be as short as possible otherwise the energy stored during the eccentric phase dissipates, reducing the plyometric effect
Concentric phase, or take-off phase, uses the stored energy to increase the force of the movement Examples of Plyos:
Standing based jumps- (low intensity) - Tuck Jumps, Split Jumps
Jumps from standing (low-medium intensity) - Standing long jump, Standing hop, Standing jump for height
Multiple jumps from standing (medium intensity) - bounds, bunny hops, double footed jumps over low hurdle, double footed jumps up steps
Multiple jumps with run in (High intensity) - 11 stride run + 2 hops and a jump into sandpit, 2 stride run in + bounds
Depth jumping (high-very high intensity) - jumps down and up off box (40 to 100cm), bounding up hill
Eccentric drop and hold drills (high-very high intensity) - hop and hold, bound/hop/bound/hop over 30 metres (athletes stop and hold on each landing before springing into the next move), drop and hold from a height greater than one meter. #plyometrics#fitness#bridgefitness#nyc#brooklyn#manhattan#leap#high#landsoftly#littlerecovery#power#dynamicfitness#accelerate#keepitfun#fitnessmotivation#fitmom#fitand48#fitnessinthecity#nycfitmom#pamelakeefer_
