Jana Walker has a sharp eye: "Part of the excitement in exploring the outdoors while hunting is finding treasures. Last week in South Dakota I found this old 90’s style aluminum arrow and broadhead in the middle of nowhere" 🏹

I had such a good time with my buddy Mike Vannes in KS. We showed up late the night before rifle season and we went to the property to check it out and prepare for the morning hunt. Since we had the wrong wind for the stand we really wanted to over the standing milo we decided to hunt a blind my buddy Just had set by a wind mill north of the stand we wanted to hunt in a waterway to see if we could catch one coming across well nothing came by that morning. We got out went to town and prepared to go to another property to get into a stand. We got in there and not 15 min in we started seeing deer. That night we saw 2 bucks and 12 does we had a great night but no shooters and the wind still was wrong for the stand we wanted to hunt so we decided to hunt in a cabin the next morning and we saw several deer out of it which was kinda fun the nice part was the wind was changing and we were going to get to hunt the stand we had been waiting to hunt. We decided to get in the early just in case a buck decided to get up early and stretch I could get a shot. We were there for about a hour and I spotted antlers about 600 yards out in the milo a nice buck stood up. Then about a hour later I spot antlers and big antlers but he was over 400 yards away with a lot of tree limbs in the way. We sat there for a little bit longer and we spot two more bucks to the south feeding in some cut milo. It was about 30 min from sunset and I heard something out in the milo about 100 yards straight in front of us I spot a rack and it’s a shooter but I couldn’t tell because his rack was so brown abs blending in but he was heading our way. When he comes out of the standing milo into the waterway the crazy part is I still can’t tell how big his rack is so I looked at his body and said he is mature I am taking him. I shouldered my gun took aim and squeezed it off. He took off at the shot running right to the tree he stopped and just fell over right in front of us and the celebrating started the hunt was over and the work began. The cool part is I was doing a time lapse with my phone at the time and it turned out to be amazing. #bowhunting#hunting#rifle#outdoors#kansas
