Missing the charm✨ of it all this Monday. Fun fact: this row of homes in Cobh (pronounced Cove) is affectionately named the “Deck of Cards”. Local joke is that if the house on the bottom of the hill fell, the rest would pile on, just like a deck of cards. #nerdalert#factchecker

The Old Rail Trail Greenway follows the path of a historical railway line, with the cycling path following the disused track on its journey between the bustling midlands towns of Athlone and Mullingar. The Midland Great Western Railway was the third largest railway company in Ireland in the 1800s, with railway lines linking Dublin to both Galway and Sligo. The railway track was originally constructed as a dual track in the mid 1800s, and later reduced to a single in 1928 before the last train travelled this line in 1987.
