I gave Ireland short shrift in terms of posts while I was over there, so this week I’ll be revisiting my adventures.
This here is Lough Tay – also known as Guinness Lake because it looks like a pint of the famed beer, complete with the creamy beige head. This was snapped during my half-day @paddywagontours excursion out of Dublin to Glendalough and Wicklow. I’m not a huge fan of bus tours but when you don’t drive sometimes you don’t have a choice. And I must say my guide was great. Wicklow would be a stunning place to hike. Maybe some other time

Have you heard of Mary Barry’s? It is FAB! When I was down in Kilmore Quay a few weeks ago this cutesy little place caught my eye. On that sunnier day it was so bright & all the flowers were full of colour. What I really took notice of, was the car parks full to the brim - on both sides of the road! Yesterday I went back down & it is a lovely day out! Whatever you do, DO NOT rely on google maps to get there as it may send you, like it did me on the most out-of-the-way twisty-turny backroads!! Stopping to ask directions from a few lads out hunting with their dogs & rifles, when they heard we were heading to Mary Barry’s they started smiling & straight away were like “you’re in for a treat, it’s really, really good food”! By the time I got out of the car & stretched my legs, all I wanted to do was make a beeline for the bar & have a nice slurp out of a cool drink but thanks to urban dwelling Shane Ross that treat has been taken away from me 🤯😫🤬 so we sunk into comfy velvet chairs & took in the menus & the cozy room around us. Easy knowing we were coastal with all the woodwork & brass sparkling - there must be ex-Navy crew keeping things shipshape?? All the local staff could not have been more welcoming & friendly. The menu was so nice it took us longer to choose our orders & despite more punters arriving in looking for a table, we were reassured by staff there was no rush to us whatsoever. We loved this place & I’ll look forward to visiting again soon! More pictures of Wexford on stories 💛💜💛💜💛💜💛💜💛💜
