I think most Pakistani’s would agree with me when I say, we primarily grew up eating some variety of goat meat or chicken in a stew with or without vegetables or legumes. These were staple dishes my mother cooked while we were growing up. Now that she has mostly retired from cooking aside from her dinner parties, my sisters have taken over and ironically, they mostly make the same meals. .
On the contrary, my own family eats a variety of cuisines and make attempts to to cook healthier meals for the most part. However, sometimes we just want good old traditional home cooking. Since I've been making Maya a paratha (fried unleavened flatbread) daily, it isn't unusual to want to eat the bite or two I sneak from her with delicious, traditional foods. .
Palak Gosht (spinach with goat meat) is one of my all-time favorite recipes. I go the extra mile and make it “'daig' style by cooking the spinach for a while and hand blending it to creamy perfection. This dish is popular at weddings and dinner parties. It goes perfect with naan, roti, paratha, boiled rice or ‘tarka’ rice. .

So @instantpotofficial just launched this Instant Pot branded blender that’s supposed to be a high-powered blender competitor to Vitamix or Blendtec. I’m kind of unsure what to think about it since I’m team @blendtec But I would try it! They have also come out with these cute @thepioneerwoman Branded Instant Pots and colored pots. So far I have seen purple and red. What do you think about them? Will you buy them or stick to all black? I wish they weren’t in the Lux model because I don’t think it’s the best one they offer (it’s the cheapest pot they make). What do you think about these changes? 🤷🏻♀️ #instantpot#instantpotcooking

500-600г творога (у меня был домашний творог, делаю сама); 2 яйца;
50г сливочного масла комнатной температуры;
1 баночка кокосовой сгущенки;
0.5 стакана молока или half and half
4 стол. л манки;
ваниль на кончике ножа;
0.5 ч.л разрыхлителя, можно и без него;
2 стол. л какао;
Все ингредиенты кроме какао, взбить в блендере, до однородной консистенции, у меня Витамикс все взбивал.
Разделить тесто на 2 равные части. В одну добавить какао и хорошо перемешать.
Форму для выпекания смазать небольшим количеством растительного масла.
Начинаем формировать запеканку: поочередно выкладываем светлое - темное тесто, примерно по 3 ст. л., закрывая всю поверхность каждым цветом.
Налить в кастрюльку стакан воды, поставить решетку и на решетку форму с содержимым. Готовить запеканку на режиме Мануал 42 минуты. Пар выпустила практически сразу, буквально через 5-7 минут. Popcorn is my favorite snack and I’m a snob about it. 😂 I only like homemade or a few speciality store brands. You won’t believe how ridiculously easy it is (and healthy) to make this with your IP! Watch in stories (or highlights) how easy and quick it is to make!
The trick is to only use coconut oil to have the highest yield of popcorn. I’m no scientist but I believe it’s due to the higher smoke point level of coconut oil! You just won’t get as many kernels to pop with other oils.
You’ll need a lid to make popcorn. You can either use the lid that comes with the IP but don’t seal it or even twist it on. Just rest it on top. It’s hard to see when the popcorn is popping though so I recommend using a clear glass lid that you have around your kitchen that will fit.
OR you can buy the clear lid the Instant Pot sells for this! And then use it whenever you do slow cooking too. That’s what I use! I have a link in profile for the one I use!
Instant Pot Popcorn
2 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 cup popcorn kernels
Salt or seasonings to taste
Push sauté mode on Instant Pot, adjusting setting to MORE heat, if needed. When screen reads HOT, add coconut oil and popcorn kernels. Stir to evenly coat kernels. Place lid on and wait.
After about 2 min, you’ll see the kernels popping! It’s addicting to watch! About halfway through popping, I lift up the entire appliance and shake it to help rotate the popcorn and prevent any burning.
When popping slows to about 1 pop every 4-5 seconds, I turn it off and pour popcorn into a large bowl. Seasoning with salt or your choice of seasoning and enjoy!

Just a super simple dinner last night. Split pea and potato soup. Ever heard of adding potatoes to split pea soup? Me either. 😂😂 But I had about 6 potatoes sprouting eyes all over them and knew I needed to use them ASAP! I had already planned to cook the split pea soup for dinner so I thought why not thrown them in there! I definitely cut around all the eyes on the potatoes then diced them up. I cooked 1lb dry peas with a chopped onion, a handful of chopped carrots, the potatoes, onion and garlic powder and a generous amount of smoked paprika. This recipe could double as breakfast AND desserts, it's so tasty! Steel cut oats, compared to regular and quick oats, have much higher fiber content, although they do take a bit longer to cook. The health benefits are worth it though! This recipe combines chocolate, maple syrup and banana for a hearty breakfast, or a light dessert after a small meal (oats are filling and on the higher carb side so watch portion sizes!).💕

I’m always asked about my favorite Instant Pot accessories and I’ve found my new favorite steamer basket! I can make enough broccoli for several days, or make over 2 dozen eggs all at once. And I don’t have to remove the eggs individually from the Instant Pot- I just have to lift the handle and take it straight to the sink to rinse under cold water. I also thought it would be a great tool to make bone broth. Add all your bones and veggies in the basket, then lift it straight out of the broth when you’re done cooking for easy cleanup.
