‘Brain bread’ for optimal #brainhealth & #brainpower 🧠🍞💪⭐
When I got ME, my brain turned to moosh. All people with ME experience a substantial loss of physical or cognitive functioning, but there’s a spectrum of severity. I experienced severe cognitive dysfunction, to the extent that I had to give up my livelihood as a public health researcher. That’s the real reason I decamped to @lecordonbleulondon: I couldn’t think clearly enough to do my job anymore!
Unfortunately, it took another 4yrs before I was diagnosed. A bewildering, turbulent time, characterised by instability and uncertainty. But in that interval, I got to live my passion for food and learned an entirely new, hugely rewarding skill set.👩🏻🍳✊ So that when I eventually discovered I had ME, I had not 1 but 2 hand grenades to lob at it:

This bread recipe came out of that skill combo: the gastro nutritionist 🤣

The adage “ An Apple a day keeps the doctor away “ has been replaced by “A banana a day keeps the doctor away “! Bananas are high fibre , loaded with antioxidants, magnesium, B and C vitamins , iron , and potassium. In fact if your Blood Pressure is on the rise , the potassium content in the banana will help to counteract the effect of high sodium in the blood and lower the blood pressure . The potassium and magnesium also helps to strengthen the bones .
And it def does not make you gain weight !

Our #emotionalhealth has a lot to do with what we eat. The foods we eat can either contribute to inflammation or fight it.
