Didn’t miss Monday - just an entire week 😏
Yup, I hadn’t worked out since last Monday... Since then, I’ve done a three day cleanse, nursed some insanely sore hamstrings and glutes, after working out on Day One of the cleanse (don’t follow my lead here), all while simultaneously battling a stomach flu (bad timing on my part 😳)! I’ve also spent some quiet 🤫 time from social media, to do a little mindset reset.
I’m still trying to understand things like, why a few relationships I’ve made since the start of this year ended up shaking my self-confidence 🤔; why I fell off so hard with my first attempt at 80 Day Obsession 🍪🍫🍰🍩🙈, and most importantly, my WHY and reasons for self-betterment.
Sometimes a little break and a little reset are needed. It’s important to listen to your body and acknowledge your feelings and moods. Gotta say...I definitely feel refreshed! 🙏
So, I’ve learned that, if I take a week off from working out...life goes on! 🙄
I’ve also learned that - working out is kinda my jam 👊🏼 and I missed it - even if my body enjoyed the break!

The gym was literally a sauna today😨 it was so hot. I was sweating so much even when I was just standing there... doing nothing. I'm pretty sure I sweat off 5 pounds🤷🏼♀️ And my clothes are so sweaty😬 that I always had to wipe down the machines that I used cause they made imprints.... am I the only one?? Is that gross??😂 oh well

So what kind of birthday cake does Junk Reviews have on her birthday? Despite my posts this month, I didn't go with a traditional birthday cake. If you've been paying close attention to my feed, you may have deduced that my favorite dessert is ice cream and my favorite flavor combo is oreo and peanut butter. So I present to you, my perfect birthday treat: cookies and cream peanut butter ice cream cake. Made by yours truly 😉 With an Oreo crust, cookies and cream ice cream, peanut butter, fudge, Cool Whip, and Reese's and Oreo crumbles, this is easily a 10/10. Found in my freezer.

(It’s been a hectic week coaching the UH team from Wednesday to Sunday of last week. I’ve finally gotten around making a short recap of how the meet went starting with squats :). 2.5 weeks out I had injured my glute and experienced deep bursitis on my squats and deadlifts 😭. I had my fingers crossed on weekly chiro sessions, a few days rest, and meet adrenaline to help me push through the injury but started feeling the pain on my opener. My 2nd attempt wasn’t quite deep enough and in an attempt to bury my 3rd, my glute gave out in the hole and I lost tension and started to fall forward 😔. Despite the hiccups, I had fun being in my first primetime spotlight 😁.)
