One of the most popular attraction of Hampi is the 56 musical pillars of the Ranga Mandapa in the Vittala Temple.
Every main pillar is wrapped by 7 minor pillars and these minor pillars emit different musical notes when struck.
Geological analysis of these pillars reveal that the rocks resonant because of the presence of metallic ore and silica at various proportions. Ingenious!

My Delhi friends were very excited to introduce me to this woman. She lives in one of Delhi’s ‘slum’ areas— she has no running water or electricity—and collects and hammers material into small pieces for rupees. They told me ‘you must meet the woman who laughs too much; like you’ and of course we got along very well. As she is called the laughing woman I didn’t catch her name, luckily I will meet her again on our next trip #lightinindia@email@example.com -
The @street_school_for_all is an organisation I work with, they are building a library right next to where she works, they have rented a small building and are now requesting book donations and money donations to build some books shelves, lighting and tables to furnish the room. If anyone would like to make a direct donation for this project please contact me or @street_school_for_all, any amount or donation is helpful 👌🏽
