Feeling an immense amount of gratitude today for all life and it’s abundance. So many good things are happening and I’m in the best space as my head is clear thanks to all the yoga practice and meditations I’ve been doing. Thank you to those involved, I look forward to sharing with you soon my next movements...Namaste 🧘♀️
I was a little torn with the #10yearchallenge but this one grabbed my attention and made me really think about my accomplishments over the last 10 years and for me it has been a lot of personal growth and development. I hated my childhood right up to my teens. I was rebellious and hated the world. Even when I became a mother (a single mum at that), I let people treat me like shit and as a result, I dwelled in self pity. 10 years ago was probably the turning point in my life where I said 'fuck what people think and expect' and I started to do what I wanted to - things that made me happy. There were so many people just trying to bring me down, even when I was happy. I now live a pretty carefree life and I don't let a lot bother me anymore and it took a lot to get here so while I'll always look back on photos and remember how much I've changed, I need to remember more how I got to where I am today as a strong and independent woman who doesn't give a flying fuck what people think! #idowhatiwant#strong#strongerandbetterthanyesterday#independentwoman#iweigh#likeafuckingqueen@i_weigh
Yesterday I spent a couple of ours with Sarah of @bravegirlsbusinessclub .
You know that saying “when the student is ready the teacher will appear”
That happened to me!
I’ve been planning away for a great 2019 but was struggling with working how I take these plans and actually use them...then in steps Sarah! .
I can’t wait to work with her (go check out her profile and Facebook group) .
Thanks Sarah for making me even more enthusiastic about what I can achieve in 2019!!
This one's for all my boss girls💃
Off late, I've been reading a lot of books on personal finance and understanding how financial freedom librates women. One of my resolutions for 2019 was to respect and understand money as a resource and I realised in the process that it makes me really uncomfortable to talk about it. That might be because we don't address financial freedom for women or discuss the impact women can have with money as a resource. At the end of the day, money is an invention of the human mind and nothing to be afraid of, or even negatively obsessed with. It is what it is and signifies the value that you can add and wield.
I've realised over time that as Indian women - we need to have more discussions about income streams. We need to talk about where exactly we want to be monetarily and how we are going to get there. We need to stop letting people assume that we aren't already on the path to financial freedom or that we don't want to get there.
Let's talk more about our investments and pension plans and our fiscal aims because it matters! A lot of times we refrain from doing so because we haven't been institutionally taught to aspire for monetary gain. But I believe, if you have the right intent and wish to use money as a resource for the upliftment of society - then it's not an instrument of greed; it becomes a device of betterment.
So my boss bishes, let's talk about how money moves and what impact we hope to create with it. Seek not it's acquisition but it's impact 🙏
And I know that as women we sometimes shy away from monetary questions, but let's not do that - because like @beyonce said - stay gracious and get that paper (for the right reasons) 💸 Financial Freedom for the win! @shreemoyee 📸: Benedict Coffey Photography .
Over on @theresilientmum last week or so, I gave a little breakdown of who Independent Mothers are. Some women do not necessarily set out to be Independent Mothers, many face various situations which result in them raising their children alone.
Our cover girl @beingdeborahjayy shared her story in this issue of @theindependentmum and she did so with the hope of helping others to overcome domestic abuse. She is a survivor and a strong one at that.
It takes courage to leave and strength to rebuild and that is exactly what you have done @beingdeborahjayy Thank you once again for being involved in something so close to my heart. Women like you help others to know that they can rebuild their lives and there is a future for them. God bless you and your girls always..😘💖🌸 #theindependentmum

Did you recently become a manager, or do you have a lot of people that you communicate with on a daily basis? This book is really good to help with bits of advice and tips to help you navigate through convos that may be awkward or difficult. Sometimes these are the hardest ones to have. But once you master that skill knowing how to work through these convos are the most beneficial when working with people ✨ BTW shows from @dsw

If you're looking for a way to spice up a neutral outfit or an all black outfit, find yourself a patterned or bright heel. Loveee this pair. One, because it's extremely comfy and two, because of the heel height I could wear these ALL day 🙌🏾👠

Happy Monday my Werking Women! The year is coming to an end (fast!), and I am all about thinking forward into the new year....Organization and planning will be absolutely essential for me to reach my goals. I love a good planner to get all my thoughts and meetings out on paper. 2019 is coming soon, so NAME IT & CLAIM IT!
I love living out west because of this warm weather, but I will say I miss being able to wear my winter coats during this time of the year #Conflicted lol. I’m a Midwest girl anyways, so I’ll wait to wear this one for when I go back home 😉
