I pulled into Bryce Canyon late last night after driving for 5 hours. I had every intention of going to bed until I stepped outside and saw how many stars were out, so naturally I pulled out my camera. Next thing I knew it was 3:30am and I was meeting up with @christianschaffer in an hour and a half for sunrise!
Check out my story for some of the behind the scenes of my Milky Way shots.
This image was taken from this mornings hike with Christian as she experienced Queens Garden for the first time.

“Non dimenticate: per avere un bel tramonto, servono cieli nuvolosi”. Voi che ne dite? Ci siamo riusciti?
“Don't forget: beautiful sunsets need cloudy skies.” What do you think of this one?
The “firefall” is a natural phenomenon that happens in Yosemite Valley during mid February when the sun aligns so that the sunset (if there is one) illuminates Horsetail Falls (if it’s flowing) making it look almost as if the waterfall is on fire! The name firefall pays homage to the historical firefall, where hot coals would be pushed off of Glacier Point for the entertainment of guests thousands of feet below.
We managed to catch a glimpse of this elusive effect after a long weekend of frolicking in the fresh powder that fell in the valley. Thanks Nature!
