Great Morning World 🙋🏼♂️🙋🏻♂️ we’ve heard this and been asked this a lot, so this is for you!
“My shoulders ache and it’s really draining.”
“I sit at a desk for work and I slouch.”
“I want to strengthen my back muscles but don’t know where to start.”
“My shoulders round forward and I don’t know what to do.”
Maybe you’ve never worked out before or you’ve done a little here and there but haven’t stuck with it. Or maybe you’re rebuilding from an injury or just trying to find a solution to all those above statements. Regardless, it’s true that we need to start strengthening your back, improving your posture. This will help start correcting your achy shoulders, rounding of shoulders and repositioning your head to a natural position, try this:
Grab a band and loop it around a pole or something if that nature that’s about chest level. Stand back with your arms straight until you have a good amount of tension on the band. Stand tall so you practice good posture (if it helps you engage your core more, relax your knees just a tad and sink your hips back so your glutes turn on, so it). Pull both handles straight back but don’t forget to open your chest so you practice retracting your shoulder blades back which also gives you a chances to peel them down into your rib cage. The biggest thing you want to avoid here is letting your shoulders round forward as you pull backward. It’s you versus the band so think of not letting it pull you forward, engage that core! Your elbows can travel as far back as you can keep your entire midback engaged (trapezius muscles mainly mid and lower, rhomboids, lats and of course your core) but mainly focusing on opening that chest! 2 sets, up to 3 can start helping you overcome the desk position, the poor posture, the achy shoulders, the forward head, and more importantly start waking up some of the most important muscles of the body that support your head, neck and shoulders!

Training and travelling 🌍✈️
Whether you’re road tripping, jet setting or on a weekend getaway keeping accountable to our goals can be difficult when travelling. I see a lot of people stress over what to eat at the airport or panic if there is no gym in their resort. My best advice is to use it as an excuse to try something new, do a quick 20 minute sprints if there’s only a treadmill available, get creative with dumbbells or use your new area to HIIT train outdoors, this one of my favourite! At the end of the day if you travel for pleasure, don’t stress, intake the culture and put on vacation mode, training will always be there when you get back. If you travel for business my advice would be use the travel time to relax (not do more work) drink plenty of water whilst travelling and try and stay in accommodation with some accessible fitness equipment or some killer views for outside workouts! ✈️💛

How to hog the rower machine? 😂💪🏻 .
Hate the rower? Me too haha! So here are some ideas of how you can fully utilize this rowing machine instead of just rowing!
(1) Reverse lunge
(2) Supinated hamstring curl
(3) Pike tucks (core)
These are actually advance moves which requires a lot of core stability whilst doing the movements. You can substitute the plyo box with a bench to make it even more challenging with the smaller COG base 🤭 It is not as easy as it looks, the pain for the curls is insane 😖
