Argentina's primary unions are conducting the third general strike of the #Macri administration along with leftist parties. The #CGT umbrella union, which called the strike, isn't planning on staging marches during the day, as it wants the images of empty streets speak on its their behalf. The latter group, in contrast, will hold different events, with the main one taking place at the Obelisco later today.
Throughout the morning, high-profile representatives from both the government and the main unions have been addressing the events and positioning themselves for the new political round that will begin as a result of the measure.
Leader of the teamsters union Pablo Moyano said the adhesion was massive and warned the government that if does not change its policies soon, the number of measures of the kind will increase. In a TV interview, his father Hugo also criticized Macri and instead praised former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, in a stark departure from the critical stance he had during her tenure.
