My intuitive eating 'experience'⭐️
after tracking macros last year, i made the transition to 'intuitive eating.' tracking was becoming too restrictive and i wasn't enjoying it anymore, and i realized (at least for myself) that food was more than just numbers. HOWEVER. when i initially made this transition, i ended up putting a lot of pressure on myself to be the 'perfect' intuitive eater (which doesn't exist, by the way).
if I 'messed up' (which again, not really a thing), or didn't listen to my body to a T, i would judge myself. in my attempt to break away from 'diet culture' and tracking, i almost made intuitive eating into a thing of its own. where, if i didn't follow it perfectly, then i was "failing." even labeling myself an "intuitive eater" felt like a lot of pressure. which is entirely the opposite of what intuitive eating is supposed to be. •
☀️recently, though, i had a change in mindset. a revelation, if you will😏. i was labeling myself as something, which to me at least, is kind of dangerous-- and can get restrictive. having this label wasn't benefitting me in anyway. and YES, i know that's entirely what intuitive eating is supposed to challenge, and i do believe that it truly works for many people. but for me, at least, it became a thing. so NOW --> i try my best to find a middle ground. balance is hard AF. don't get my wrong. i eat in a way that makes me feel good, and i try not to overthink it. I try to not have 'all or nothing' thinking, and try to be mindful when eating. but i'm not an "intuitive eater." I just eat🤷🏻♀️
My what big feet you have! Grateful for my feet, which never falter. Always helping me to stand strong when I feel myself fall. 📷cred @katieprestemon

Saturday mornings = pancakes. This is mathematically proven and you just can’t fight that kind of logic 🤷🏻♀️
Spelt chia pancakes!!!! Whole grain and naturally sweetened 😇
Topped with the works:
frozen mixed berries (microwave and add 1 tsp of cornstarch halfway through for cheater’s compote) + coconut shreds + pepitas + plain greek yogurt mixed with raspberry jam (no sugar added, @smuckersbrand )+ fried banana + cacao nibs + almond butter + chia seeds 😋
Pancakes (psst, they’re vegan): • 1/2 cup spelt flour
• 1 tbsp chia seeds
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• pinch sea salt • 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
• 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Makes 5 pancakes for you to promptly inhale 🙂 happy Saturday pals!
When your roommate & you both ALWAYS buy sweet potatoes, and both NEVER eat sweet potatoes, you bake and forget it ever happened ✨ 🍰 s/o to @rachlmansfield for making sweet potato bread possible, I may have doubled the amount of chocolate chips in the recipe but thick thighs save lives 😛 Happy Saturday peeps ☀️
paleo pancakes using @birchbenders mix topped with Trader Joe’s mixed nut butter, cacao nibs, coconut and strawberries 🍓 plus *exciting news coming next week* ☀️

Summer is coming, so there are more and more seasonal fruits in shops. For today: honey cinnamon buckwheat with golden kiwi, cherry and almond butter. Good option for dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan breakfast 🙌🏽 Happy weekend, guys 😊
Happy Memorial Day weekend!! 🤗❤️ who else loves to celebrate with corn on the cob?! 🌽 perfect way to kickstart summer vibes!! 💫 also, I’m sharing a bit about inflammation on my story this morning as well as a nourishing, anti-inflammatory green smoothie recipe!! ✨ I’ve been attempting to reduce inflammation in my diet (to help with my MANY chronic ailments 😭😪)! Unfortunately corn isn’t considered a low inflammation food (just like most cookout food 😔) so I’m making sure to load up on green smoothies!! 🌿 balance, right?! ✨ hope you all have a happy Saturday!! 💕🎉 #eatbetternotless#eatrealfood

back home — nothing like enjoying a cup of coffee while my mom does the crossword puzzle. I can’t remember I morning since I was little that she hasn’t! (I did not inherit those skills 😂)
thanks all for sticking with me!! Those who have!! I’ve been MIA with school, full time job, freelance recipe development and photography + enjoying the outdoors any free second I get. Instagram kind of became my last priority. But I love you all — especially my OG girls!
I’ve wrapped some stuff up + have decide to get back into the blogging/gram sphere.
ICYMI: 1. I was lucky enough to attend the Wellsccape Soirée hosted by @davinesnorthamerica at @ionstudionyc in NYC.
2. I made a video giving you all the goods about the event (as well as reviewing the beautiful sustainable items in the gift bag).
3. If sustainably made tequila, organic goats cheese, or pastel green illuminating vegan shampoo sparks your interest — tap my bio link to watch the full video on FB. 🌿
Let’s talk about dairy. I’ve had issues with dairy my whole life and have cut it out many times. However, in December, I was in Greece and decided to eat ALL of the feta and ALL of the halloumi. And guess what? Not one stomach problem. It turns out that the dairy in Europe is not nearly as processed as the dairy we drink here in the US. In the US, we want to extend the shelf life of everything as much as possible, so our milks and cheeses are ultra-pasteurized. Pasteurization breaks down the enzymes in milk that help our stomachs digest it. It’s no wonder so many of us have dairy issues. So now, when I do have dairy, I look for raw or low-pasteurized varieties, and always organic. It makes a huge difference.
I’ve also started experimenting with making my own cheese. It’s crazy how easy it is! The hardest part is finding low-pasteurized milk. Here’s a recipe for an amazing Lemon Ricotta.
4c raw or low-pasteurized whole milk (ultra-pasteurized or low fat varieties will not curdle as well - I find mine at @unsqgreenmarket or @wholefoods)
1/4c lemon juice
1t lemon zest
You will also need cheesecloth and a food thermometer for this recipe
In a sauce pan, mix milk, salt, and lemon juice. Heat over medium-low, constantly stirring until milk is lightly bubbling around the edges. Once the milk registers 165 degrees on your thermometer, remove from heat and let sit for 2 min, then stir gently for 5 seconds. The milk should separate into curds and whey.
Line a bowl with cheesecloth and carefully pour the cheese into the bowl (you may want to use a slotted spoon). Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow to drain for 1-2 hours. Remove from cheesecloth and stir in lemon zest. Refrigerate until ready to use.
This works great on toast, in pancakes, to bake. Whatever your heart desires. Enjoy! #sweetthensavory
N A T U R E
It’s easy for me to give in to the speed-addiction of living life fassssst and giving in to the hustle. Being in nature slows me down, reminds me that I have been made, and gives grounding perspective. Today, I was thankful for a moment to hike a mountain and savor the moment. 🖤

How I start my day every day!! On this side it’s 2 #selflove affirmations that I picked for the week! On the other side it’s an attitude of gratitude. I write 3-5 things I’m grateful for when I wake up and before I go to sleep (☝🏾If I don’t pass out for exhaustion.) It really shapes my day and my mindset. Some of the things on my gratitude list are simple some make me cry if I sit in that space. Happy, grateful tears.
My affirmations give me the feels. When I write them at first sometimes I don’t believe them(I write those ones until I not only believe them but I feel them in my spirit), I get triggered by some of them too. I know that, those are the ones I need to be focusing on if that happens!
Hope you all enjoy this beautiful Saturday!
Light & Love my friends! 💖

Who are you being when you eat? ✨
Have you ever thought to ask yourself? It might seem strange, but it's an important question to ask. How are you feeling physically? Mentally? Are you frazzled AF trying to get breakfast into you before rushing out the door? Are you absolutely exhausted by the time dinner comes around, so even lifting the fork to your mouth feels like a heavy task? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Who we are when we eat, and what our energy is like has MASSIVE impact on how our body receives food. We could be eating the greenest, leanest meal, but if your energy is low and our stress is high our body is not benefitting from the nutrients that way it should be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Check your energy before you sit down for your next meal. (Side note, are you sitting for your meals? 🤔) When our body and mind is energized, our body's have the ability to digest, metabolize, and be nourished by our food choices. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Who's ready to commit to ENERGIZED EATING?? 💫🍽💞

Sweet and savoury is how I like it 👏🏻🤤 Pulled out the gluten-free @erewhonmarket bread from the freezer to make this bad boy, and it’s safe to say I do not regret using up a slice for this combo! Now off to work for the morning, hopefully getting in a workout in the afternoon, and doing some writing. Hope you have a beautiful Sunday! P.S. my interview with @astoldbywomen is now live and the link is in my bio! x •
Toast details: 1 slice of @erewhonmarket gf vegan bread, 1/2 an avo mashed with 1 tsp lemon juice, topped with chili flakes, cilantro, micro greens, strawberries, and balsamic 😊
simplicity is how I would describe my food lately, I don't have the patience to create anything crazy or elaborate because ... 👶🏼 is hungry all the time! this morning I really wanted toast so here's what I did:
1 slice of @foodforlifebaking sprouted cinnamon raisin toast
smothered with a little @fourthandheart vanilla bean ghee + @kerrygoldusa butter
then a little bit of @woodstockfoods crunchy PB + 1/2 a banana 🙌🏻

If you find yourself saying “I really hope I can stay on track with my eating this weekend”....or “I hope I can find time to get my workout in”....CHANGE YOUR LANGUAGE!!!
What we say becomes our REALITY. Our words have power and when we use the words hope, try, wish....it’s giving our brains the option...telling it we don’t really have to make it happen.
We do too much “hoping” and not enough PLANNING & ACTION.
Don’t hope for those things. PLAN them into your days, plan your food and what you’re going to eat. When we leave things to chance, they just won’t happen. BUT if you plan for them and instead say to yourself: “I WILL stay on track with my eating this weekend. I will get my 4-5 servings of veggies. I will only have 3 alcoholic drinks. My workout is happening at 8am. When we give our brains specifics, it knows what to do!!
Pay attention to your language and the words you use every day. They matter!! ❤️❤️

How are you speaking to yourself? The words you use when you talk to yourself matter.
I’ve wasted the last year being downright mean to myself because I no longer look the way I did in this photo last March. That’s not ok. So I’m changing it.
I’ve started thinking how the person I love most in my life would speak to me about myself. Nana took her last breath looking deeply into my eyes, and I’ve been imagining looking at myself through her eyes in that moment. I realized her words wouldn’t match mine over this past year, and it broke my heart.
How did she see me? I can venture a safe guess and say it’s the exact opposite of how I’ve been seeing myself. She would say I’m passionate, loyal, strong, dedicated, smart, a hard worker and funny as hell. And she would say she’s proud of me. So why am I telling myself otherwise?
It’s hard to love ourselves all the time, even a majority of the time. So try changing your perspective. Look at yourself the way your most cherished loved one looks at you. I promise it will change things for you. It already has for me.
Tell me something you love about yourself!! 👇🏼 Even if it’s something small. Tag a friend to join in, too! Because we all deserve to accept, embrace and love ourselves exactly as we are. I’m working on it too; we can do this together 💛 #iChooseToBeWell#HoleFoods#Hole30
