As far as beach destinations go, Sochi’s Black Sea won’t be making any international must-visit lists anytime soon, but it’s long been Russia’s go-to summer vacation spot. Oligarch-approved, it’s home to Stalin’s dacha-turned-museum, Putin’s summer residence, & Medvedev’s superyacht. For me, it’s where my mom spent her childhood learning how to swim. Where the Soviet architecture continues to perplex & the new Olympics construction does too – the city version of a midlife crisis. But it’s also where you can drink a cheap cold beer, tan on a lounge chair, & float in a strawberry til you’re ready to brave the rocks under your feet again, wondering if much has changed at all. A taste of the old world in the Russian Riviera.

talking about the elephant in the room. anything that is unrelated to elephants is irrelephant 😛
did you know:
1. elephants never forget. elephants remember and mourn loved ones, even many years after their death. when an elephant walks past a place that a loved one died at, he or she will stop and take a silent pause that can last several minutes.
2. after a long separation, elephants will become highly emotional when they are reunited.
such compassionate creatures. they are an example of gentle strength. just because you’re big and strong, you don’t have to stomp on others.
elephants are so special 🐘
"Don't forget. Beautiful sunsets need cloudy skies." - Paul Coelho
I love a good sunset. Actually, I love any sunset. Layers of clouds really add a wonderful dimension. How about you? Are you more likely to catch a sunset or a sunrise?
The Galerie d'Apollon inside the Louvre Museum in Paris. One of the most impressive rooms I have ever been in.

Our culture heavily celebrates individuality and tells us we can achieve it by cobbling together elements of what we buy and own. The more we arrange the material in our lives to represent “who we are”, the more we get, and give to others, feedback and acceptance that reinforces our life and image style decisions.
This system of idolizing individuality has created a prison economy.
Individuality should simply be a by-product of being true to what feels natural and authentic. If we live and perform the drama of our lives that is lead by being comfortable in our own skin, (even if that means striving to be uncomfortable for the sake of growth), and moving ourselves through our world in the way that allows us to fly the highest we can, yes we will appear to stand out, but more importantly we’ll be living fully and honestly.
It’s time each of us changes to stop praising individuality for the sake of individuality, so that our system, which thrives on our consumption, changes how business is done. Instead, we need to learn how to identify and lift up the journey of those living each day with gusto and oomph. How to accept and love those who are centered in their own flavor of weird. After all, individuality is what weird is.
Our culture-of-the-moment tells people to be individual but not actually weird, unless it’s the trendy weird... However history celebrates the ones who stayed true to their convictions, the true weirdos whose life were not governed by a preceding format or trend, not those who bought the brand of Weird from the shelves just because it made them stand out. 💃: @vandanahart#nvrtmrw#bramflife#wespeakdance
I hope you find someone who makes you happy, even when you feel like sometimes, life is too hard for you. And I hope that when you both come across a tough situation and it comes down to a choice where you are one of them, I hope they choose you. Everytime, I hope they choose you.

I was lucky enough to catch a few photos of the Lunar Eclipse last night! Despite the fact that it was cloudy all day here in the PNW, nature pulled through and gave us a few moments to view this beauty 🌗❤️
Went for a walk through local wetlands yesterday, and today we celebrate 5 years together by folding laundry 🤷🏼♀️🥂

I had such an awesome chat with a few of you about the Fyre Festival documentary on @netflixuk - how crazy is it that the scam went so far?! If you’ve seen it, what did you think?
If you haven’t seen it - definitely go watch it! It’s seriously eye opening.
I’m now watching a series called ‘INSTAFAMOUS’ which is about how a variety of insta stars (like @fuckjerry) reached their success.
Do you have any fave documentaries on Netflix? Or other channels? (I loved the @bbcstories documentary from @benjaminzand about the World’s Most Dangerous Cities). Let me know in the comments 😎
