It’s the most miserable time of the year 🎶 🎼 ... cold and flu season miserable that is. While you should be loading up on rest 🛌 , water 💦 and homemade chicken soup 🥣 , here is your cure all. Who needs NyQuil when you have this ☝🏻 in your pantry ? Every Greek mom and yiayia’s cold and flu 🤧 🤒 😷 remedy - the Greek hot toddy. Here is my concoction:
Heat up some Metaxa 🥃(or your alcohol of choice), and add a tsp of great quality honey 🍯, a few clove buds and a stick of cinnamon. Bottoms up 🍻 😃 . Even when we are sick us Greeks are fun! OPA!! Please remember to always drink responsibly🙃
Looks like we’re in for another cold night in CT so I’m warming up with Hot Toddy-ish from @eviltwinbrewing! This is a Barleywine style ale with the flavoring of bourbon, honey, lemon, and cinnamon to mimic a hot toddy. This definitely will warm you right up!

1½ oz Rye Whiskey w/ @teroforma Mulled Wine
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz Honey Syrup
3 oz Hot Tea
Build in a heat resistant glass and garnish with a lemon wheel studded with cloves and a cinnamon stick.
The aromas and flavors of the mulling spices in this @teroforma infusion kit will really get you in the mood for the holidays! You could pour up one of these toasty toddies and settle down for a warm winters nap. Check out my story today to see how I infused the rye and created the cocktail.
A hot toddy with a difference...
A shot of whisky 🥃
Freshly squeezed Clementine
Clementine slices spiked with cloves
Top with hot water .
This will definitely cure a cold, smooth a sore throat or just as a delicious warming drink. The clementine and cloves are a change from lemon and a cinnamon stick and it works just as well as the classic.
What do you think? .
