S/O to our #hospitalitymanagement students who attended the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality National Conference and Career Fair this weekend.
Day 3 of the National Conference: Thanks to our advisor, president, and Vice President for making this opportunity to attend national possible. I believe everyone in my chapter had at least one interview, or some sort of network with either recruiters or peers. We will keep pushing forward NSMH ISU!! We got this and each other!!
It’s been a few years since I’ve been able to participate in the @northernmichiganu#hospitalitymanagement Chili Challenge. I am excited to share that my entry, with over 90% #michigan ingredients and a #pnw influence, took most original. A huge shout out to all whom participated and attended today’s event! 🌶

This trail on Saturday was so beautiful and peaceful. We skied about 1.5 miles Saturday. This area in the image, used to be the duck blind area of a hunting preserve....now it is a State Park.

Connection! Are you truly connecting with your customers or just posting photos that you think people want to see? .
Social media is about connection. We all have a parent, grandparent or that weird second cousin who likes and comments on everything you post? .
That is because they are connecting with you, like they did back before the internet. If your focus isn't about connecting with your customers through social media its time you make it your must.
Photo cred @thelittlesnapper these guys know the game and do it well!
What’s your fav? 💜 💙 💚 💛
Today mine is teal...but likely to be coral tomorrow and red Friday.
We’re always told personalization is key.
I say this too and strongly believe it.
But how are you adapting to your customers changing needs and wants?
Capturing data once and using it to base all future decisions doesn’t cut it. With so many options, our customer’s preferences change.
Consider how you can build a deeper and more relevant understanding of your customer.
Do their preferences change based on season, a change in home demographics or due to new competition?
Targeted, ongoing customer engagement, in person and online with systems in place to record and revisit customer profiles will enable you to gain a greater understanding to attract your ideal customer.
It’s only Monday. You have time to act.
Something to ponder this week ☀️
