Reminder! No classes today as we remember and observe this Maundy Thursday, "a day of anticipation in which we wait for the grim events of Good Friday and the joyous news of Easter Sunday." - from @biblegateway blog post titled “Maundy Thursday and the Command to Love.”
"I am giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you. If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples." — John 13:34-35.

. #juntoscaminando#haciaelsacramento#catolicos#boys#semanasanta#holyweek#goodthursday#catholics#mischicospreguntones
Today we move into the Holy Triduum in the Christian calendar— the period of three days that begins the evening of Maundy Thursday (remembering Jesus’ final meal with his disciples), goes through Good Friday (the day Jesus was executed) and the Easter Vigil (praying and waiting as Jesus is dead and buried on Saturday), and closes with evening prayer on Easter Sunday. .
We have amazing church partners with several opportunities to walk through these holy days through worship and in community.

So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.
Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.” Matthew 26:26-29 ESV
The thief on the cross is the perfect example of a dependent sinner. This man, perhaps more than any of us, understood that spending eternity with God comes by believing Jesus and accepting undeserved favor. He had no other choice. ⠀
That kind of unabashed dependence on Jesus is the essence of faith—the link that binds our desperate need with his unlimited grace. Dependence on Christ is our only option. It is also the greatest gift. ⠀

Victory Over Fear
In our world today, bombarded with news and surrounded by what seems to be an endless flow of bad reports, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by fear. We’re afraid of the unknown, afraid of pain and loss, afraid we don’t have what it takes to succeed. But when our blameless Savior took on the cross to pay for our sin, He showed us perfect love. The power of that love defeated all the side effects of sin and darkness in the world, including fear.
1 John 4:18 tells us that “perfect love casts out fear.” Through His ultimate display of love on the cross, Jesus claimed victory over fear, and He invites us to share in that victory. He wants us to live with peace in our mind, heart, and spirit. But it’s up to us to receive and walk in the victorious power of His love. In Romans 8:38, the apostle Paul said he was convinced that nothing could separate us from the love of God. We, too, have the opportunity to be unshakeably confident in God’s love for us and abide in the peace provided by that love. If you ever have a moment where you question the extent of God’s love for you, all you have to do is look to the cross.
When fear comes knocking, you have a choice to make: Let it overtake you, or remember Jesus’ victorious act of love and choose to believe that He has won the battle for your peace. When everything seems to be going wrong in your world, stand on firm on the truth that fear has no power over you. Claim His peace, and walk forward in confidence that you are fully covered by His love! #youversionbibleapp#Jesusourbannerofvictory#maundythursday2019#holyweek

O maior entre todos os homens morreu de braços abertos.
Jesus Cristo ✝️❤🙏🌹
The greatest of all men died with open arms.
Jesus Christ ✝️❤🙏🌹
The Dome of the Rock is in its core one of the oldest intact works of Islamic architecture. Built on the site of the Second Jewish temple that was destroyed by the Romans on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem. Absolutely breathtaking.
I love You, my beloved Jesus
I love You more than myself
I repent with my whole heart of having offended You.
Never permit me to separate myself from You again.
Grant that I may love You always
and then do with me what You will.
The Surrender T-shirt is on #eastersale@shwarandleticia 💃💃💃
While the world is turning, the cross is steady because Christ gladly chose to #Surrender to the will of the Father.
So, when we say surrender, we don't mean Ileke-idi 😂, we mean surrender to the Cross, surrender to Christ, surrender to the will of God.
A little reality, and a little help for this weekend::
So we’re hours from Holy Thursday. Those three most beautiful days are almost here.
My dead refrigerator is emptied into coolers dripping with ice, because it stopped working this afternoon. and my littlest girl is sleeping at the foot of my bed with a fever. Guests are coming in days. Still hoping to feed them and not infect them 😂
Seriously though y’all... it’ll all be fine, in light of Sunday.
I’m still ready to be astounded. So ready for Easter.
Here’s the help:: We have a printable sale in the shop! All the downloadable in our Easter and Printables sections are 15% off - to make gift-giving, table-beautifying and basket-decorating a little easier. That’s almost 100 prints (including this one shown above), and our cute Easter card sets, too! No code needed, the discount is already added. See the links in our profile.
We’re praying for you this week, and over these next three days of the Triduum. May our Lord bless you with His great love and mercy!
We take a moment this Holy Thursday to reflect with contrition and resolve: "What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later.”—John 13:7
On Holy Thursday, Jesus gave His friends the ultimate sign of His humility and love for them by washing their feet. He then demonstrated the full meaning of His life and death—breaking the bread of His Body and drinking the wine of His Blood with them. Yet this very night He would weep alone in the Garden as His Apostles slept. We reflect on what Christ did so willingly for us.
